Nikki blonsky is a great actress. She did an amazing job in hairspray. It is so sad that her career did not take off the way it was supposed to. Hairspray was the only major movie she has ever done and that is so sad. Hey, at least she is living a normal life cause fame can mess with people's head. She can do the things she wants to do without paparazzi invading her privacy. So I am pretty sure Nikki is happy in the place she is in right now.

I don't think she's too happy . She's posted before how she wishes she was still acting and singing . I think she desperately wants to star in another musical

You're mistaken, TrChSpHa, her MOTHER punched the model at the airport. Nikki was arrested as an accessory.

Before or after Hairspray? If it was before Hairspray, I thought she would be grounded since you know, it was her big break. After Hairspray, I can believe.

i am from the same town on Long Island that she is. She was a year behind me in high school. And, we weren't friends, but I had a nice sized circle of friends who, like Blonsky, did all the shows the school offered. And, her reputation even then was a bit holier than thou. And, even during the couple of times I did hang out with her, the first word that came to mind after seeing her interact with others was entitled. As if she deserved the entire world on a silver platter (and this was prior to Hairspray.)

I thought she was very good in Hairspray, and then she did some Lifetime movie that I saw, a TV show that got cancelled quickly, and I then, besides an episode of Ugly Betty, did not hear of her until she was in Smash (I was curious and googled her in the interim and heard she was doing cosmetology on Long Island). Whatever her personal or professional problems may be, I hope she does more singing work in the future.

The difference is Vine Stars are relevant to today's pop culture whereas she really is not.

maybe, but neither are Paula Deen, Bindi Irwin, certainly not Gary Busey, and Chaka Khan (who I absolutely love), but let's face it - she's not really "relevant to today's pop culture either".......
If these "celebs" can be on this show, Nikki Blonsky certainly can. I never considered her, ACL2006, but she really would be a perfect choice for an upcoming season.....
