Wow.

It looks amazing! And I beg to differ with the close comparison to Chicago in the other thread... There were a few moments that looked similar, but they were clearly sequences being filmed for the movie... I have a feeling it will have a hint of the flavor, but will not merely a carbon copy of Chicago. :)
I was squealing like a nine year old meeting hannah montana. It was rather embarrassing...and I've seriously watched it about...5 times. Haha! I have been waiting for this for so long and I am SO EXCITED!!!!! Count on me to be in a movie theatre November 25th!!
That trailer is great! The movie looks promising. It does have the flavor of Chicago but I'm not complaining.
Yeah, some parts did feel a wee Chicago-y. But I don't care! And I loved the fact that they play Be Italian. It's like...the best song in the show. Gah! I'm still way too excited.
I'm assuming it was Fergie, seeing as she's playing Saraghina (I know I probably butchered that spelling and I apologize).
Fergie was singing "Be Italian." She sounds excellent. And all the women look spectacular. Even Nicole. But Marion Cotillard... I have a serious gay man crush on that woman.
Fergie really surprised me in this trailer! I never listen to her so I don't really know her voice that well. She sounded awesome. I can't wait to add a fourth Nine recording when it gets released :)
I've always thought her voice was pretty great. Her songs aren't exactly pieces of art, but they showcase a pretty powerhouse voice. I was excited to hear how she'd sound and I wasn't disappointed. Now I just need to hear everyone else. Like... NEED to.
Ah dude, I know. Especially...well...all of them. I've never heard Penelope Cruz or Marion Coutillard (who looks sensational) sing and I don't know how Nicole Kidman's breathy voice will carry out "Unusual Way." It does make me rather nervous.
I'll be playing hookey from work on November 25 -- hopefully NINE will be playing in the Cinerama Dome theater at the Arclight -- and I'll have tickets for an early showing.
This is one of my favorite musical scores; the movie version should be thrilling.
It's like Italian "Chicago," and that's perfectly alright with me. I love "Chicago" and I hope I'll love "Nine." Every woman looks absolutely radiant and Daniel Day Lewis already looks like he's got at least another Oscar nomination in the bag. Visually, the film looks absolutely stunning. Can't wait!
It looks absolutely gorgeous in every way! And Fergie sounds terrific. Can not wait!
ljay- It looks like Minghella and Tolkin threw out almost all of Kopit's libretto.
Damn. Chicago was actually fairly faithful to the original libretto. I was hoping the same here. But I know both movie had different screenwriters.
I gotta admit it looks good. I'll be there.
looks amazing! Can't wait to see this!
Looks brilliant. Penelope Cruz's legs are DIVINE. And Kate Hudson looks stunning in that beautiful white sequence.
Very Chicago-esque. But that's just a trailer. The trailer showed, of course, most of the production numbers. We don't know how the rest of the film- the straight- will be looking.
I absolutely CANNOT WAIT.
Can not wait either. As I mentioned elsewhere it is perhaps one of finest scores I have ever heard.
And just let me point out that the musical itself is very different from 8 1/2, so they may have used a little of both for the new movie.
Should be interesting to see how Marshall is going to shoot/light/edit around Nicole Kidman's plastic face.
Holy heck! Nine is one of my favourites- as is the Italian Riviera! I think we have to accept this will be quite a different adaptation, but it still looks pretty damn good.
