i've watched the trailer more than a dozen times by now- and yet i just can't make out Judy Dench's closing lines.
does anyone mind writing here, what she says there? at the end?
"You're a world-class liar, darling. Go out there and lie for Italy. Lie for the italian."
Counting the days for this. It looks and sounds amazing.
Is it really possible we're going to have another GOOD movie musical?
Do all the songs take place on the movie set? Is that the gimmick this time?
Probably. But I hope not.
It looks like it. I don't see at it as a gimmick. It's a bit of an homage to 8 1/2, where a lot of the movie revolved around Guido's movie set (including the final scene). Whatever makes it work.

which woman has the biggest role? i heard Nicole's role isn't big, but the song "Unusual Way" is "the" song in the musical.
All the women are considered featured roles. Luisa might be the largest role of the women.
Wickedfan, Judi's closing lines in the trailer are actually:
"You're a world-class liar, darling. Go out there and lie for Italy. Lie for Italia."
I don't think I've watched a teaser trailer over and over this much since Batman Begins
It looks like the numbers all take place in the movie inside Guido's mind... is that really so wrong?
It's not wrong. It's just slightly "been there, done that".
I guess it doesn't bother me because it makes sense.
I have never heard or seen any part of this musical, and after seeing the trailer it looks REALLY GOOD! I would love to see it and get the soundtrack. I loved Kate Hudson, Fergie, and Nicole Kidman! Does Kate sing in any songs? It looks like she was in a musical number dancing but IDK if she was singing. Which recording do you recommend I hear before the movie? I am searching on iTunes and found the 2003 cast recording. Let me know. I felt like the scene with the feathers reminded me of Chicago! lol.
I would recommend the OBCR with Raul Julia and Karen Akers.
But the Antonio Banderas may have a better sound quality as it's newer.
Avoid the Johnathan Pryce version.
I think, just as the actor/musician concept worked better in Company than Sweeney, this "musical number in the mind" gimmick works a helluvalot better for this film than Chicago, seeing as the stage show pretty much takes place in Guido's head.
