Are they supposed to be doing an Irish Jig during the beginning?

WTF was that?

Did it have a small sample of "part of your world" in it?

Well I didn't want to get into it, but he's a Satanist. Every full moon he sacrifices 4 puppies to the Dark Lord and smears their blood on his paino. This should help you understand the score for Wicked a little bit more. Tazber's: Reply to Is Stephen Schwartz a Practicing Christian

This song is beyond terrible.

I am a huge Lloyd Webber fan, but this is not his best hour.

I think his best hour was 30 years ago...

I also love Andrew Lloyd Webber, and I am a fan of pretty much all his work besides Cats, but the music he did for this show is just... bad.

Well, I think "Wonders of the World" is very good. Very reminiscent of something like Sunset Boulevard.

The only song in the show which he's added which I like is 'Already Home'.

That was mind-numbingly bad. The Irish jig sound, and the banjo straight out of "Alabammy." Lloyd Webber has no idea where or what Kansas is, and that's only the beginning of his troubles.

HINT: It's the "pioneer Midwest," the "Great Plains," and a Northern state. It's not the Deep South or a county in Ireland.

Then Dorothy complains, "Come on, you guys!" like she's in Legally Blonde? WTF

I'm glad I'm not alone in this. The entire CD is cringe worthy and borders on desecration. It's ridiculous that Webber's songs are allowed to play within the Arlen and Harburg score.

I think "Wonders of the World" is better than any song in the original score.

Sigh. Oh, no. When I first heard of this project (ALW's attempt to turn Oz into a "true" stage musical and not just a transfer onto the stage from the film) I was surprisingly not against it and was rooting for him. The movie as a film could not be more perfect, but I have never liked it on stage (I always say I would rather pay $100 to see it on the big screen than to pay that same amount for a mediocre live production) After listening to Nobody Understands Me and Wonders of the World, I am now re-convinced it should just remain as a film. Both songs are pretty horrid, and I am an ALW fan.

I like Already Home, but the other songs sound like unused material from Whistle Down the Wind and Woman in White.

Deadly. I dislike the original score and think "Wonders of the World" is beautiful.

Not to me. Stage productions of the film version of The Wizard of Oz have been around decades longer than Wicked.

Wow. That song is awful and the title is fitting. I don't understand it.
