I am just wondering what you belive the nominee's for the tony's will be. I'd like to hear your predictions.
Musical
Spamelot
Brooklyn
All Shook up
Little Women
Revival
La Cage Aux Folles
Sweet Charity
Pacific Overtures
Best Actor in a Musical
The 2 from La Cage and Tim curry, those are the only possible winners.
Best Actress in a Musical
Christina Applegate
sutton Foster
Those are the favorites.
I don't think Brooklyn or All Shook Up will get nominated. I think it's gonna be for Best Musical:
The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee
Dirty Rotten Scoundrels
The Light in the Piazza
Monty Python's Spamelot
Of course, I haven't seen any of these, and two haven't been reviewed yet, but these look like the biggest contenders. I think. Haha.

your predictions are very far fetched.
best musical will likely be a battle between drs, spelling bee, piazza and then the fourth will be a fight between little women and spamalot.
norbert will most likely win best actor, and sutton actress.
supporting actress will be a battle between sherie (if she's considered supporting), sara ramirez (who'll likely win) and maureen mcgovern.
supporting actor will probably be between michael benjamin washington and maybe christian borle.
now plays are a whole other category indeed.
I don't think Spamalot will need to fight for a nomination. It is a lock. I will be very surprised if Little Women is nominated.
Don't forget Jesse Tyler Ferguson for Best Featured Actor.

Theatreboy I wish I could put huge wagers against your predictions.
I think the real locks right now are Norbert for Best Actor and Sara Ramirez for Best supporting. If Charity makes it in, I can see Dennis O'Hare getting a nom, but since he'd have to be in Best Actor, I think he'll lose to Norbert.

spamalot a) i don't think will be a very big hit with the critics because as far as i heard it only appeals to monty python people, and it has no substance (like the producers)... b) nominators won't want another producers over full monty...
i think individual performances are going to be more rewarded from that show.

previous oscars have been supporting actors (and won) so i think they'll fight for dennis to go there. especially with the competition of norbert, john lithgow, daniel davis, gary beach, tim curry.
i would love jtf to win! anything spelling bee related should win. especially the score!
Id very much like to see Dennis O'Hare win for best actor because in my opinion is that he was much better in Assasians than Cerveis who won the tony for it. And sutton will win because shes incredible and I think the injury to Applegate will be very effective.
I will be very disappointed if Sutton Foster wins for her Carol Burnett impersonation in Little Women.
I agree the role isnt great but Sutton is very good (maybe I just think that cuz I love Millie.) I also must add that I liked O'Hare but Norbert Leo Butz will win especially cuz he didnt get nominated for feautred actor in Wicked.
I too hope Norbert wins - but he should't have been nominated for Wicked. Boring Boring Boring - and I love Wicked. He is truly amazing in DRS.
before I start to yell about how Wicked was unfairly treated at the Tony's I must say that Norbert is incredible and should have at least been nominated for Wicked even if there was no chance at a win. I also want to ask, do you think Gary Beach at all has a chance for La Cage?
I have not seen DRS, but rumor hasit that Sherie Rene Scott might win a Tony (whether it be leading or supporting) this year. I hear she's incredible.
Also, to an earilier post, do you belive John Lithgow would be up for supporting (better chance at a win) or in the Leading category with Norbert?
Lithgow, if nominated will be in leading actor. No question.
In my opinion, Sherie is leading, and should be nominated as such. And she should win!
I don't know what to say to that, I live in Chicago so I have only seen a couple shows, however I did see both Spamelot and Charity and neither were as great as I thought they'd be especially as a Python fan.

I was guessing Dennis O'Hare would have to go in the "Best Actor" slot because of his billing. If he can be slotted as Best Supporting I think he'll have a better shot-- especially if all the Spamalot guys end up there.
And AP, you do realize that you said that Spamalot has no substance (Like the Producers) and yet, Producers won more Tonys than any other show? Someone sure liked it.
Norbert definitely wasn't nominated for Wicked...

i realize what i said. plenty like it. but it does not have any substance. and theatre wise, comparing full monty and producers. please. there's no question. producers won on entertainment value. not quality.
DRS
Pacific
Norbert
Sutton
Those are my choices for winners....although I dont' really know who'll be nominated for female in a musical..I just hope Sutton wins !:)
They also have things on Broadway called plays.
Plays? I don't understand...
Yeah, Magruder. What are these foreign things you speak of?
