Norm could definitely pull it off. (For the record, I'd rather he stayed with Les Mis, but he could still pull it off.)
"But going from a French policeman to ruler of Atlantica dosen't seem like an easy transition."
It's called being versatile. Just because the role of Javert is different from King Triton doesn't mean he can't play both roles.
Norm would make an awesome Triton tbqf.
Have I mentioned how much I love how quickly people get their panties in a twist around here lately?

I think Terrence Mann would be good as Triton... maybe it's just me. I think he looks really good with white hair and he could definitely act the part.

mmm...Terrence Mann....
"I can't educate the totally STUPID!!!!!!!"
I really hope you're kidding. What about my posts in this thread made you think I was serious? My reply was ironic. My previous post was sarcastic. Read my first post, then yours, then my next post, and put two-and-two together. *BLING*
(hint: Did you think my synopsis was a little "far-fetched"?)
When you get the joke, let me know. I'm not even going to address everything else you said.

And now we have progressed from macaroni art to gluing puzzle pieces together.
I still can't believe I actually had to explain it. Well, I didn't have to, but I don't know the age of TT, so maybe it was just a little over his/her head. I thought it might be that they're a newbie, but I see that isn't the case, so I'm not sure. Talk about a thread-killer...

actually, this board isn't all that conducive to streamlined discussion and it can be very easily to misconstrue something like that.
Especially since very often sarcasm is a tonal thing, rather than a word usage thing.
And also that kind of conversation is very cultural.
Dont blame TT's age, doesn't have anything to do it.
Fenchurch - I could totally see your point if TT hadn't launched into a knee-jerk name-calling tirade without asking a single question.
It's okay, Matt, your humor goes over the head of some, but for the rest? They are your fan club.

Agreed Lizzie....which btw, that was funny (I'd have PM'd you but you don't accept them)
Yeah, Lizzie, I tried to PM you as well. Hilarious!
Oh crap! Sorry about that.
"What I'm saying is that, when it's not explained, I can't truly believe they're a family. Not just in this show."
I think that is one of the most disgusting thing I have EVER heard. People still need to understand that people come out in all diffrent colors. I have friends with white fathers that came out looking caucasian and I know vice versa. They do not NEED to explain why they look like that! Why dont you watch Imitation of Life, you have two versions to pick from, one was in 1934 and the other was in 1959. You can also watch Elia Kazan's Pinky or if you want to read it in a book, The Human Stain is excellent. I cant think of anything else at the top of my head but alot of text is out there on the subject. Please inform yourself.

NYC4LIFE,
Thank you for that eloquent statement. I couldn't agree more.
They're mermaids for god's sake! They're imaginary creatures! No rules, folks.
I think Norm would be great....Plus he'll look hot with his shirt off.
maybe i am the only person who thinks that norm is overrated. I thought he was quite boring as Javert and was not at all impressed with his voice. I am quite upset that he will be Triton.
I think he is a GREAT choice. Not only is he a legitimate theater name, but he is most well known in the more serious theater community. He will bring in bigger audiences. And, what's more, all of the people that have been angry at the fact that TLM is coming to broadway at all, now have someone great to go see in it.
and in response to the above comment....I thought he was phenomenal in Les Mis.
I don't know...he just feels like the kind of guy who could bridge the gap between "campy" and "serious". does that make sense?
I doubt that he will be that significate to the show so I am ok with it.
Sorry, I just wasnt impressed with his Javert. BORING! BORING! BORING! I've seen better.
Well, bridging the gap between campy and serious is the responsibility of the director if you ask me...
and Spacedog--it's significant. It makes your argument stronger...
Well, you are surely entitled to your opinion, but I hope you are not judging Mr.Lewis solely on his Javert role. While he's gotten mostly favorable reviews for Javert, it is not the ideal role with which to judge a performer. Many who have seen Norm perform in many diverse roles are simply are blown away by his "Brian D'Arcy James" style of appeal, imo.
Norm is a Tony waiting to happen as he brings so much charisma and raw talent into his efforts on stage. Not to mention that he holds the "biggest smile, nicest gentleman to work with ever" award by his peers. Oh! and he's easy on the eyes.
(Norm, here's your chance to blush and keep going to the gym!)
Have a great weekend folks!
