It isn't like South Africa and the anti-Apartheid movement had deeply-entrenched musical traditions...

Words don't deserve that kind of malarkey. They're innocent, neutral, precise, standing for this, describing that, meaning the other, so if you look after them you can build bridges across incomprehension and chaos. But when they get their corners knocked off, they're no good anymore…I don't think writers are sacred, but words are. They deserve respect. If you get the right ones in the right order, you can nudge the world a little.

I saw this headline this morning with half of one eye open and I swear I thought it said Norm Lewis is playing Matilda. For which I would have raced to the box office for a ticket.

Yep, I would watch that man read the damn phone book just to see him on stage. It was so amazing to see him in The Tempest this past summer.

Love Norm Lewis, but I totally do not see this as a musical. If this had been a straight play, I might have had a little more faith in it.

I'll probably go anyway, because...Norm Lewis is incredible.

LOLOLOL because that is EXACTLY what I read..and I was thinking I needed a stronger pair of reading glasses. Glad I was not the only one. Ms. Trunchbull? Mr. Wormwood? Matilda herself? At least I am in good company..
