So many shows so little good ones. Only two NEW shows have gotten raves from the NYT in terms of musicals. Okay we have some plays that are good . But really So many musicals have been produced but none of which had really great reviews
OMG terrible thread
Get a life.
lol I don't really think you can really listen to the critics. Its like a game of who will hate the show more

I really want to wait for a critical successful and commercially successful musical like A Chorus Line but I think that is next season on Broadway in the from of HAMILTON. I just think that shows need to have orginal humor rather than just poking fun at other shows

According to didhelikeit.com, currently playing on Broadway that opened this season, Ben Brantley enjoyed: Fun Home, The King and I, An American in Paris, Wolf Hall, Hand to God, Skylight, The Heidi Chronicles, On the Twentieth Century, On the Town and The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time. The Visit is the last show to remain unreviewed. I wouldn't call that a terrible season.
Also this thread is terrible.
Any season that gets Broadway productions of FUN HOME and THE VISIT is far from terrible.

AMEN!
OMG one of the best seasons in some time!
Thrilling new shows: AN AMERICAN IN PARIS, FUN HOME, FINDING NEVERLAND
Wonderful revivals: ON THE TOWN, ON THE TWENTIETH CENTURY, THE KING AND I
Amazing Plays: CURIOUS INCIDENT..., CONSTELLATIONS, WOLF HALL
Great revivals: YOU CAN'T TAKE IT WITH YOU, GHOSTS at BAM.
So many shows, so many exceptional ones. How did we get so lucky?
^ WORD.

This season is "so terrible", that I have already been to NYC twice this year to see shows, and have plans for 2 more trips.
A Gentleman's Guide
Something Rotten
Hand to God
On the Twentieth Century
King and I
Honeymoon in Vegas
Cabaret
plans for:
Hamilton
Fun Home
American in Paris
Yup, a "terrible" season.
Gentleman's Guide and Cabaret aren't from this season, MV.
But I'm glad you've seen and loved so many shows!
Try to squeeze in On The Town if you get a chance. It's a great show!

Guys. "Mr Smith" only posts about how terrible seasons and shows are. He's a troll. As others have said, do not feed it. Nothing to see here, folks. Move on.
"Only two NEW shows have gotten raves from the NYT in terms of musicals."
That is unusual. But only because it's rare that even two new musicals get raves from the Times.
