Isaac is still in the show. He takes things called vacation and personal days to visit his family and alumni in North Carolina. All actors do this.

To say I'm crushed would be an understatement. This story, the set design, the cast, the crew & the creative worked so hard to create a show that hasn't touched me so heavily since Wicked. This show had a great run... but it definitely deserved a longer one.

This is such a gorgeous production. It breaks my heart that it's closing. However, I think it has a respectable run and it has the Tony Award. I'm thrilled about that-I was really rooting for them!

(That said, I think they shot themselves in the foot by not discounting until grosses really dropped, and being stingy with group rates this coming spring.)"
I have to agree. Part of the reason I held off seeing this for so long was because they seemed to be a bit stingy with discounts, and when it was on TDF, it was always an odd day when I was working.
That being said, I finally saw this the day before thanksgiving and it’s an absolutely gorgeous production that deserves heaps of praise for its ingenuity, atmosphere, and cast.
This revival lasted far longer than anyone expected. I'm sad to see it go, but i'll always cherish my memory of seeing it. What an incredible production.
OOTI is one of the greatest musicals I've seen on Broadway in years, probably one of the best revivals I've ever seen (didn't see the original). While I'm so sad that it's closing, I'm happy it had a long, healthy and happy run with multiple Tonys showered upon it. It's a magnificent piece of theater, and that's so rare nowadays.

Many (if not most) Best Revival musicals never recoup. That being said, I'm sure that Kenny D. could manage to find a way to run HAMILTON at a loss!

He has produced five shows. None have recouped. Which is worse than the industry average of four out of five not recouping. Yet he somehow convinces people to pay him to learn how to produce.

If I watch clips from both shows, it almost seems like the same director touched both shows (though I know that it is not true). By the way I have not seen either show to the fullest ..just clips..so just curious to hear thoughts on this!"
They had nothing in common except the theater, really. Nothing seems similar about them beyond that, and I saw both more than once...

I’m really glad I bought tickets to see this for a third time in December last week. Have ticket prices been raked up since the announcement yesterday?
^ Nope. There is still a great 50% promo code on BroadwayBox through December 23rd.
So I kept postponing and postponing and postponing seeing this but I finally went last night after getting a last minute SRO ticket.
Once On This Island is the first time I cried during an opening number of a musical. There's something special about seeing a cast of so many brown, black beautiful people on a Broadway stage. "It was like black seeing black for the first time"
I've seen so many moving shows but the experience I had last night makes me so sad to know it's closing after only a year.
