Michael McKean will rejoin the company as the Stage Manger from August 3 - 24; David Cromer will close out the run, with the understudy playing a few performances here and there.
Farewell to one of the most thought-provoking productions I've ever seen. It's been more than swell.
Note: McKean is only there until the 22nd (A Sunday).
I'm glad I will be able to catch this before it goes....but now to determine: Do I see it with McKean or with Cromer. Thoughts anyone??
Congrats to them all on a wonderful run!
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?

So bittersweet! It would have been nice for this is just occupy the Barrow forever. :) I've seen Michael Shannon, Michael McKean, Helen Hunt and David Cromer as Stage Manager...
Shannon has been my favorite thus far, though the other three were still marvalous. McKean I think was a bit warmer than Cromer- I think I preferred him, though Cromer was also incredibly brilliant.

Arrgh.....they don't do a Weds matinee and that looks like the only time I could catch McKean. Drat.
I guess Cromer it is!
But at least I get to see it...I've only been putting it off since it opened!
Thanks for the info, though!

I just caught this production for the first time on Tuesday.
Having played the Stage Manager, this show (and that role) are very, very close to me. I was astonished--a word I don't use all that often. Cromer's work (and that of his actors) is beautiful: poignant without being heavy-handed.
Helen Hunt, I thought, was good, but by no means the center of attention; in fact, the evening (in my opinion) belonged to Emily, rather than the Stage Manager.
Anyway, if you haven't seen this yet, go. You will regret having missed it once it's gone.

Can't wait seeing this in two weeks, I am glad I got my ticket when I did ( $39.00 discount code ) cause I looked at maybe seeing if I could see it again during my upcoming trip and most shows had sold out.
Should be a great week of theatre.

Well I didn't want to get into it, but he's a Satanist.
Every full moon he sacrifices 4 puppies to the Dark Lord and smears their blood on his paino.
This should help you understand the score for Wicked a little bit more.
