$160 tickets are really helpful to the theatergoer

"Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.” ~ Muhammad Ali

To clarify pricing for Cabaret;

ALL Orchestra seats are $162. Rear, side, front. Believe me, those sightlines are not all worth the same price. And then, in July, they start offering premium pricing of $250-350 (higher on the weekends).

The only seats in the theatre with a price point below $100 are in the rear mezz.

I was trying to get a ticket for closing night. The good seats are $362. WTF.

But c'mon guys, RTC needs to make as much money as possible from this production to support all of the other awful artistic decisions that it makes.

I have little sympathy for a not-for-profit that spends over 1.2 million dollars in grassroots lobbying and over 35 million dollars on employee salaries & benefits.

If making bank when they can on a show like Cabaret means they can still take chances in the future on underappreciated works like The Winslow Boy and Machinal, I don't have any problem with what they are charging.

Roundabout has lost millions of dollars because of a decline in subscribers: people who buy seats to multiple shows in advance. That number has stabilized at 28,000, Mr. Haimes [Roundabout's artistic director] said, compared with roughly 45,000 in 2008.

Hm... I wonder why that is. Here's a thought, Todd. Stop producing CRAP productions of CRAP shows.
