in the post "Betty White 4 SNL" days where ppl can get a movement going to have a black guy play Spiderman when details about the movie aren't out yet, nothing is considered jumping the gun.

I love Mary Testa like no other but I know exactly how she'd play Hannigan. I'd rather they cast someone that surprised us and was a revelation in the role.
Since singing isn't key for the role, if they could get a top notch celeb in the role who could wow us with her acting, I'd be more interested in that.
We'll see Testa in it when Papermill does it.
I'd rather see Testa in Call Me Madam.

If they're going for star power, Cyndi Lauper (her Little Girls would be good, but her Easy Street might be a bit anemic).
