According to On Your Feet!'s Twitter account, the two leads of the show will be announced at 8:30 am on the Today Show.

It's Janet Dacal playing Gloria, because she's such a talented performer and deserves a good vehicle for her talents.

If Janet Dacal is indeed moving forward with the production, she brings a dream press story with her- she worked for Gloria and Emilio Estefan in their Miami recording studio after she graduated high school and eventually became a background singer for Gloria before she moved to New York to become a working actor.

It looks like Janet Dacal is not moving forward with the show. Ana Villafañe will make her Broadway debut as Gloria opposite Josh Segarra as Emilio.

Andréa Burns is amongst the supporting cast as Gloria's mother.

And the wonderful Alma Cuervo as Gloria's grandmother. I'm not familiar with Ana Villafañe, but I worked with Josh a few years ago and he's a great guy. Very happy for him.

I really shouldn't try and post when half asleep, because my post should have said IF it's Janet.. but apparently my mind failed me. 

Ana looks adorable and has such a striking young Gloria vibe to her, obviously. Josh Segarra is a really talented guy, and I can't wait to see him in a role that's different than his work in Dogfight and Lysistrata Jones.

 She's tiny! A little taller than the real deal, but not super tall. I'm sad she's not moving forward with it.

It may not be that he does not want to do it, but more dealing with Sergio Trujillo has a Latin background (so do his Assistants) while Jerry does not. In a video about the auditions, most of what they showed from the dance call had a salsa influence to it.

Josh is  a basic, boring male lead. But maybe he'll surprise. Not sure this show is even attempting for any artistic credibility anyway. Is it having an out of town? Guess not?
