One Man, Two Guvnors to play the Music Box Theatre in April

LOVED this show...its wickedly funny and Corden is comic genius...its a guarantee good time at the theater...really enjoyed myself when i caught it at The National over the summer.

In this day and age, people I think, want to be entertained....this comes with a strong pedigree and - unlike something a la Enron, this is pure entertainment with a great story and LAUGHS.

Wondering if they'll cast up and add a "name" or two?

It was one of my favorite theatrical experiences, ever...its just fun

Hyperbolize much?

Charlie Chaplin was a comic genius.
Buster Keaton was a comic genius.
Sid Caesar was (and technically may still be) a comic genius.
Mel Brooks might have once been fairly considered a comic genius.
George Carlin, Lenny Bruce and Richard Pryor could be argued.

James Corden is an affable, quick-witted and talented actor who plays comedy well.

And yes, I saw the show in London.

No, James Corden is a comic genius!

He is far from being just an actor, he is a phenomenal comic writer who co-wrote and co-starred in one of Britain's biggest and best 21st century sit coms. He has a very strong grasp on timing and how far things can be pushed before they become offensive, and all of this experience does mean that when he plays a scripted part, he does it with comic perfection as he is a man who completely understands the basis of comedy.

I loved it when I saw it in London until I read the play afterwards. I was really disappointed to see that the "unscripted" parts were written into the play, 100% word for word. That was a bit of a let down. Still, the play is extremely funny and James Corden is hilarious.

I'm not entirely sure what your meaning of this is, bjh, but it seems to me that if the production convinced you otherwise, then it did a good job of it, no?

That's more a criticism of the piece than the production or his performance?

Not to be rude, but is there really a audience for this in New York that it was dying to be transferred? Seems like every show under the sun in the West End is getting automatic Broadway transfers.

You could ask if there is an audience for any play that opens regardless of where it comes from. The fact is it's a very funny play with a great lead actor, why would it not go to NY? And on top of that our plays do very well inh the US most of the time so it makes perfect sense

Namo i love u but we get it already....you don't like Madonna
