I found this fun quiz online: try to identify the opening lines of over 60 Broadway shows! [I'd give credit to the page I originally found the link on if I could remember, but I've been playing online way too much today in an effort to procrastinate...]

It was harder than I thought! I had to think of the melody for many songs before I could get the show.

The 12 minute time limit makes it hard, because you don't have much time to use the process of elimination. I got 36 right in the twelve minutes. I'm sure most here will do much better. Fun game, though.

And the opening lines of The Sound of Music are not the title song (that's only in the movie)--the opening lines (at least in the original, Tony winning production) are the nuns Latin prayers.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

Allofmylife, I missed Jersey Boys too! Even though it said first line, I wasn't thinking of the French song, but the spoken dialogue. Not to mention I don't know the French lyrics to begin with. It was a little embarrassing for me considering I've seen the show multiple times.
