Hi,
I live in Canada and I was hoping to send a performer in the new musical "Paradise Square" a gift for Opening Night. This actress is someone I have seen in several productions in my City. I have met her before and I am certain this gesture would be well received.
I would be sending her a small gift through the mail, but I am having a heck of a time trying to figure out how to have it delivered to the theatre. I cannot find a way to contact the theatre directly to ask them. I have also been told that theatres are not accepting these types of packages because of Covid. I was hoping to send this to her as a surprise to celebrate this special evening on Broadway.
Thank you in advance for any help or answers that can be provided.

Make a donation to a charity that she supports and let her know via social media. She'll be inundated with gifts and mail from personal friends/family/colleagues. NOT receiving a physical item from you will be a better and more appreciated gift :)
(For future reference, mail for someone working on a show can be sent to the theatre's publicly listed address. But again, with COVID and changing culture, it's simply better not to send anything.)

This person does not know you, the gift will be immediately be put in the garbage due to Covid concerns and the creepy factor of it all. A donation is a wonderful idea though.

Hi,
Thank you for your response. I think it's best to reach out to her privately and let her know. A donation is a wonderful idea.
Thanks!

Thanks for your response...no creepy intentions here at all. There is more context as to how I know them that I chose not to share. As you say, a donation is probably best ![]()

A donation to a charity they support is a lovely idea, and if you'd like to do something more personal, perhaps a (not too big) gift certificate to a local small business near their theater (if you could arrange it from your location)? It would also be like a donation to support these struggling independent stores/restaurants.

If you want to send a physical gift and know it will be well received, go for it! Theaters are receiving packages the same as ever.

If you're able to reach out privately and are "certain" the gift will be well received, then why did you need to join the board today to ask us? This post screams fake. Now go do your homework.

Thank you for your answer. This is helpful and all that I was hoping to gain from posting this question here.

I've never done this and not sure if BroadwayCares still does this service for opening night but it's still on their website (all proceeds go to BroadwayCares.)

Doesn't Smackery Cookies deliver gift boxes to cast members? The fact that the cookies are delivered by a 3rd party takes the "creepiness" out of the equation.

Just to be clear, I was not calling the OP creepy because I sincerely don't think he is, like at all. I think the stranger's gift that she does not know nor do she know what it's in the box creepy.
I apologize.
