I was able to pick up opening night tickets for Fiddler on the Roof. I am pretty excited. I have never been fortunate enough to attend opening night to any other another show.

Just wondering what I should expect or look for at an opening night show. How early should I arrive for an opening night show?

Not to be confused with Dave19.

Look for actors on a stage.  They'll be singing and talking.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

Opening night these days is not what it was like in the past sad  to say.

If you want to watch the celebs on the red carpet get there appxly 35-40 mins before start time on tix.

Security will prob ask you to "move along" anyway.

Curtain will likely start 15-30 mins late.

As for the performance itself, there really is nothing different from any other perf--perhaps the director will come out on stage during bows, as might the writers in attendance. The "fun" part of opening nite is the party after the perf--and it doesnt sound like you have passes to that--but maybe you could find someone who has extra/s.

ENJOY!!!

I'm trying to get opening night tickets to waitress but the date isn't up on ticketmaster. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Patience.

They usually hold of on public seats until much closer to the opening.  They need to wait until producers and other important people have claimed their tickets.

You really need to keep checking back.

Arrive at the same time you usually do before the listed curtain.

I've been to a few opening nights...and it's a mixed bag for sure. There are "celebs" and others who really dress up and there are often camera and interviews in the lobby or front of the theater. Depending on the show, I often didn't have a clue who was being interviewed and photographed and the celebs were less than "noteworthy".

But there are plenty of people who just come in wearing jeans and sneakers like you would see on many regular days. Unless I am involved in the festivities, I usually dress just a bit nicer than usual but I have never found it to be that much different than any other show. You will probably get to hear some speeches at the end of the show...  Have fun!
