how do you get these? i know you can buy them, but where would a $100 dollar ticket seat you? how do people get in like the 3rd row? Are they more expensive or something?
nope. i just get mine from telecharge.com. typically that is the highest i've paid and you're not charged more for, say, the third row but their is some mysterious formula they have for prices in the orchestra section just like the other sections... try it, you'll like it.
do you know anything about Vip tickets? I found a website that offers them but theyre $240 dollars?
I couldn't disagree more! I detest TeleCharge -- many more people complain that they were explicitly told they would receive excatly what they did not receive than that they were happy w/ the tix & svc. If you can, pleasepleaseplease go to the box office. You will be much happier. I always recommend purchasing a copy of Stubs so you have the general seating plan of every theatre in great detail. Of course they change by show, but usually only a dozen or so seats come & go.
i agree that the box office is many times a good bet, but i've also run into extremely unhelpful people at the box office who were not willing to search for seats that i wanted rather than specific dates.
also, remember that not everyone is a subway ride or brisk walk from the theatre district. unless i'm in the city, it costs me more to get to the city and then buy the tickets in person. for me, telecharge (in its current form anyway) is a good bet to get the seats that i want.
on telecharge can you preview the ticket before you pay?
oohh telecharge is ticketmaster, i hate ticketmaster because it sucks that you can't get the tickets mailed to you instead of having to pick them up.
I've got my tickets mailed to me from Ticketmaster on millions of occasions.
really?????????????????????????????????????????? i never seen the option??
and telecharge is NOT ticketmaster. TM is a pain in me bum, while telecharge is only a minor burning sensation.

Telecharge people on the phone have always been pleasant and very helpful to me. On their webpage you can search for best available seats on a range of dates.
Ticketmaster, (or as my friend calls it, Ticketdisaster) has generally surly people answering their phones (we don't have to be nice, we're Ticketmaster) and when you search for ticks you have to go date by date. Horrible.
Telecharge adds slightly less service charges as well.
I've also found the people from Telecharge to be very nice and helpful on the phone, Plus Telecharge's website is so much easier to deal with than ticketmaster's. I refuse to use Ticketmaster for anything.
The best Orchestra seats (front/center) are usually "House Seats." They typically belong to people involved with the show or theater directly. It is posible to buy house seats, but they're not always easy to get (at least not for popular shows). They go on sale when the box office has absolute confirmation that those seats are not being reserved for a cast members' family or friends, or whatever. :)

Apparently ticketmaster is a disaster everywhere. Friends in the UK have had nightmare times with double booking of seats, tickets not showing up on time. You name it. They must truly be Masters of disasters. At least when it comes to shows and concerts
The last time I used ticletmaster, they mailed my tickets to the wrong address! And that wasn't the first time they screwedup with me.
well besides the stupid $10 service charge. i really havent had much of a problem w/TM. and usuaally i buy them online and just enter the "password" from broadwaybox.com and i get most shows for $65 or so.

Ugh...I should have closed this thread the first time ticketbastard was mentioned. Now I have a headache from the rapid remembrance of past horrors.
