Hey at least WIW got Micheal Ball, Set Design, Outstanding Musical, etc... I am just happy for that.
WTF?
Where is Mano's nomination? WHERE?
Mano might not be a lock for a Tony nom after all.
I understand why he didn't get a Drama League nomination, but this is kind of bizarre. I don't understand what people aren't seeing. I.... why?
AHHH MANO!!! He deserves a nom. over all those guys! Thats insane!
Cheers to Jim Dale!
That's...really surprising. I mean, genuinely. I'm shocked. I was sure he was a lock.
It's just a very ensemble driven production. They are all outstanding, and its hard to single people out.
I still think the answer for the Tonys is to just present a special citation to the entire cast.

JLY is amazingggggggg :) gosh i love that guy
True, MB, they ARE all outstanding. But Manoel's role is particularly strong in this production, which has basically been restructured as Toby's re-telling of the story.
I'm genuinely shocked at his exclusion.
And does Michael Ball's inclusion mean he has a chance for a Tony nod after all?
Thrilled about the SWIWS nominations (because it was perhaps my favorite show of the season) but Michael Ball? What!? And no Mano? Not to mention, Festen was nominated over Rabbit Hole and no nomination for Red Light Winter? I am happy for Megan Lawrence and Zeljko Ivanek however, as I am a big fan of them both.

I don't see why Michael Ball didn't have a chance...
But, seriously, looking at the list...Jim Dale gave the best performance of them.
1) Michael Ball was OK...but he was barely there as he got sick.
2) Peter Benson - he was funny as all get out...but an award?
3) Jim Dale....Ummm...yes. He got plenty of raves.
4) Christian Hoff...I enjoyed Jersey Boys...and he gave a fine perofrmance...but, again, an award?!

No Mano on this list is a crime. I am very disappointed.

What about JOY? Did anybody see that?
"Michael Ball was OK...but he was barely there as he got sick."
THAT'S why
You're right BSoBW2, Jim Dale will most likely win this award. By default of course.

Yes, by default.
But he also deserves it as he steals every scene.
Oh yes, of course. Dale is very deserving of the award. He had me in awe during the reprise of "The Song of Inadequacy of Human Striving".
Off-topic: zoomzoom, where did you get that TARZAN picture? I thought there had bee no press released photos.

Congrats to Michael Ball! He was excellent in the role of Count Fosco -- a multi-layered performance of a deceptively charming villain who serves a central role in the story. And "he commanded the role so musically well" ( in the words of Andrew Lloyd Webber)!

I'm not surprised Mano was snubbed. Outside of this board, I've never heard any praise for him. (Besides the reviews, obviously.)

What does that even MEAN, PJ?
