Which shows have you gotten tickets for, gotten all excited about, can't wait to go... and are disappointed because you made so much out of it? (I know I worded that one all wrong, but you get my idea lol)
I got all excited for Wicked, but found the show disappointing. Still very good, but slightly disappointing for what I hyped it up to be. JLT was excellent, but Idina... not as good as I expected lol

PHANTOM OF THE OPERA
It was a 2 hr plus sleep pill!
No offense - don't bite my head off.
Idina, as much as i love her, as very shakey performances. I've been lucky to see her at her best.

Hi,
I totally agree that the show doesn't do the book justice.
Maguire, however, said that he was happy with the musical (I mean he wouldn't say it's horrible).
I do remember Winnie Holzman (Book) saying that she wouldn't the novel to survive only as guidelines

Is there any certain reasons you didn't like Phantom? (Just curious
)

Ugh, Avenue Q by far........
....HAHAHAHA. Sorry I thought this was the "What's the most fun you've ever had at a show?" thread. Q does not get NEARLY the credit it deserves; every time I see it, I walk out of the theater on top of the world...and it's not just because the Golden has a GREAT bathroom for doing coke...
Anyway, overhype? I'm staying out of that.

Rent
The Lion King
Thought they were good shows, and I enjpyed my evening at the theatre, but I guess just not my cup of tea.

AIDA
THE PRODUCERS
Just about every damn musical I've seen in the last ten years. That's why I've stopped going.
