PLAYBILL Covers of the 2015-2016 Season — Page 8

Can't seem to post them, but Hughie and Blackbird both have new Playbills. I'm not sure if the now terrible Playbill Vault has them, but I saw them on Instagram under each show's hashtag.

I quite like Blackbird's new playbill!
The new Hughie one hasn't been posted yet!

Wow.
Really liked the original Blackbird.
This might be even better.

Noises Off, She Loves Me, and all other Roundabout Playbills are usually just that, though...

Ooh, I'm into the new Blackbird Playbill. I agree that the Long Day's Journey into Night Playbill looks good in black and white. So did the Noises Off Playbill (maybe not as good as color but it didn't look bad) in person. She Loves Me is a disappointment though. It's too dark and stark for such a light, romantic show.

Roundabout just takes their seasonal logo art and slaps it on a Playbill in black and white with no real thought. "She Loves Me" looks like the program for a funeral. Even if they inverted the colors so the writing was in black on a white background it would look better.

The new Hughie one is very nice.
Eclipsed and School of Rock have both gone black and white as well.

GreasedLightening: Yeah, that's my point,

I'm just saying I don't think any effort went in.

Sad that Eclipsed is going B&W - their color playbill is really lovely.
The "new and improved" PlaybillVault still hasn't displayed Hughie's new playbill - but from pictures on Instagram it looks to be a marked improvement.

Darn, the School of Rock playbill is going B&W?
I always thought that red, white, and black emblem looked so good.

I prefer the first Crucible Playbill. This one looks too sexual, while the first one could be interpreted as dealing with either sex or possession.

Was the Shuffle Along cover changed?
Playbill Vault has a new one posted.

It is so ugly in comparison, for any other show this would be reasonable, but when you compare the two, this one is black and white fun home.

The first one looked amazing.

I hope that's not the permanent Shuffle Along Playbill. I would love to have one with the artwork they've been using to advertise and I have no space for posters/windowcards.

How disappointing. I understand that vintage-style Playbills typically featured (and the new variety of them currently feature) production shots, but the first one was probably the most beautiful Playbill I have ever seen.

Dafuq is that new SHUFFLE ALONG???

That's interesting that they have that new Shuffle Along playbill art. A friend of mine went to the show tonight and the Playbill is still the same. I wonder if they're planning to change it in the coming weeks (though I hope they don't)

I don't hate the new artwork (that's probably my favorite color), but it just seems stupid to replace gorgeous artwork with what is effectively a stock photo.

If they entirely abandon the original artwork and don't even feature it on the window card, I am going to be really disappointed. This new Playbill cover is hideous. It looks like someone made it in 5 minutes.

Well I'm definitely happy i saw Shuffle Along last night and therefore got the original playbill cover signed by Audra.

Disaster has also gone black and white.
