Hughie's is boring. Why not just slap Forest Whitacker's face on it? It would look a little better. Everything else looks pretty good.

"Waitress" and "She Loves Me" covers are up! She Loves Me is even more disappointing than I had expected it to be.
Would it kill Roundabout to throw some color into their Playbills?
I know, I know... they're a non-profit, they've never had color Playbills, why change it now, it's not necessary, blah, blah, blah. I get it. I just wonder why they wouldn't at least throw a colorful background behind the text, make it a consistent thing and get some flare on their Playbills. Even the Public started doing color Playbills downtown and those look great. Doesn't necessarily have to be the show logo, but at least the Roundabout logo, the show title and some color. Just rambling.

The "She Loves Me" Playbill is not even trying. Maybe they have enough going for them that marketing it is not an issue?
Waitress is fine. Better than most even if she is in that weird overexposed halo. I just feel like for every Wicked, Hamilton, or Fun Home that tries to do something iconic and memorable there are so many shows with plain text or photoshop jobs that theatre fans could surpass quite easily.

PianoMann- something like this:

They are going to b&w before they even start previews??? Uh oh....
^No, I think that was in response to the pondering of what it would look like in black and white. The cover is still in color according to Playbill Vault!
I personally like the she loves me playbill, it is very striking.

Fully Committed, Shuffle Along, The Crucible, and American Psycho covers are all up!
Honestly disappointed with American Psycho I think. Love Shuffle Along so much! Definitely was expecting something different for Psycho.

Shuffle Along
I love it! So glad that they went with classic playbill designs.

American Psycho - I don't mind it!

I think that the CRUCIBLE vintage style playbill is the most successful yet, it looks straight out of the '60s! The SHUFFLE ALONG is nice as well though I'm not sure the vintage style seems to be as striking in color.
AMERICAN PSYCHO I can't decide if it like or dislike.
Whoops sorry Mr. Nowack! - guess you beat me to it :)
Anyways. I think Shuffle Along is absolutely brilliant - I love The Crucible but I'm surprised that they aren't advertising Saoirse Ronan's face more as I thought she would be at least a considerable draw for the production. Was hoping Fully Committed would of gone with a different take for their playbill design, but this one isn't bad.
Shuffle Along's Playbill is stunning. Really hope the window card looks just as great.
Shuffle Along might just be the prettiest looking Playbill I've ever seen.
I still do not like Waitress' at all...Jessie looks weird.

LOVE the Shuffle Along Playbill. Always a fan of Playbill covers that actually try to do something.
American Psycho... could be worse?
Fully Committed is cute.
The Crucible feels like one of those stills that doesn't capture what's actually going on in the movie or on stage in that moment.
I'm not a fan of the American Psycho playbill. Is it supposed to be inspired by something?
Is Shuffle Along the first musical to get the vintage playbill? Either way I like it. The Crucible is nice, but what is with her arm on the bottom? The way American Psyco looks with the dashes extending words looks bad. Sorry, but it just looks bad. Now onto Waitress looks with the pie and eg bowl. Both are blatantly photoshoped in, look at the angle of them. And why would you be using different kinds of eggs? That would create a mixed contensticey, a no no in what I know of baking. End rant.

The cover of the novel that the musical is based on. Google it. I am actually quite impressed.
Ah. See now I kind of like it. That's neat that they did that.

I hope Psycho is better than the PlayBill.
First off a big thank you to GreasedLightning for the thread and your constant updates!
She loves me is so bad. Worst this season. Hughie a close second.
I didn't like American psycho but when someone explained about how they tried to recreate the novel's book cover then it made sense and I guess it's ok. At least it wasn't for the lack of imagination.
Bright star looks nice even though I have no idea what's it all about. But I laughed so hard when someone noticed that it's like a woman showing her breast to the train riders. Waitress was ok. Big mueller fan so love everything she is in (or on).
I love Shuffle along but I don't think it's appropriate for the classic Playbill. I always thought classic playbills (the recent incarnations) show scenes from the show and not the official art design. Not so thrilled about the crucible but it could be worse.
So far the best playbill this season is King Charles III, Sylvia and The Color Purple in that order. I hope Long Days Journey use their current art work for their playbill design. That would be magnificent and if it's in color it would surely be my favorite cover this season. I'm very partial with colored playbills. If Noises Off was colored it would have been one of my favorites. So far the only effective b&w playbill for me is The Humans.
