I think I'd like the new Shuffle Along playbill artwork if the original had never existed, or they hadn't already been using that artwork for advertising. At face value I actually like how it looks.
It's not offensive nor is it good.
Fixed a typo (nor was not)
Crap. I'm not seeing Shuffle Along until the early summer. Was SO looking forward to that gorgeous original design

The Color purple has a totally new Playbill cover probably for when Jennifer Hudson leaves.
So everyone knows who may not know, shuffle along reverted their design.
Really?! My friend has seen it a few times and I see her post pictures with alternating Playbill covers.

So what are the reasons a show usually switches their playbills from color to B/W? I mean, yeah of course it's probably related to financial reasons but for newer shows (Fiddler, for instance), it doesn't really make a whole lot of sense to me. Just something I've always been curious about. Also, is there a possibility for B/W playbills to ever go back to color?

It's rare, but it has happened before.

Have Tuck Everlasting or Bright Star switched to black and white yet?

Huh, that's so strange! Sometimes I browse show tags on Instagram just to see the playbills and such, and using Fiddler as the example again( since I am seeing it next weekend lol), I just saw one person post a picture with a color playbill amongst the sea of B/W playbills. Maybe you could request for a color playbill instead?
Also, does anyone know when pride playbills start? Am seeing Waitress on June 1st and I'd love to have a pretty rainbow playbill, but I'm not sure if any shows have them ready to go by June or if it takes a couple of weeks.
From reading previous threads, I believe that it varies per show. It really depends on when they run out of the previous months playbills, but since Waitress is doing brisk business, I'm sure you'll be able to get your hands on a Pride Playbill.
Temporary CATS cover is up; am assuming that it may change after it opens. Also appears that most Playbills are being converted to the 'vintage' style. The website has updated most of the covers. Some are stunning.
I know it's probably temporary, but that just looks BORING
