Okay, that's uncalled for.
He got that information after speaking on the phone directly with Stephanie.
And yet I suppose you all know SO MUCH MORE about what's REALLY going on in that theater than Stephanie herself?
Do you all have psychic powers now?
Stop pretending to know more than anybody else.

Man, that pirate queen really helps some of us dial up the crazy, doesn't it?
Oh, thank goodness you just joined three days ago to set us straight about this Mag Annaidh! I was worried for a second.

Actually, I joined over a year ago. I never posted, only read, so I only just recently activated my account.
And what does that have to do with anything? What an irrelevant point to make.
You don't have to like Pirate Queen or even care about it at all. Just all I ask for all you is to be civil. We have enough crap going on in this world that a Broadway show shouldn't be your source of bashing. I suppose Aldous Huxley is right...what we love will ruin us.

It says you joined April 17th. Lol.

Yes, that would be the day I clicked on the "activate my account" link that was conveniently sent to my inbox.
LOL.
What a convenient lie. I only started posting here in 2007 but have had this account since 2005, and nothing like that was there when I began using it again...

Oh, boy! Dropping Stephanie J. Block's name!
I'd say yes, the people here do know more than she does, especially someone like Riedel. She's just the star, not the producer.
Why oh Why are so many fired up and in belief with Riedel? The statement made, that the "The Pirate Queen" was not closing, came from the General Manager of the Hilton and the Producers. I am thinking this is a pretty believable source.
Look, I don't want to argue and I do not plan on writing on this topic again!!! Believe what you want. But, maybe if I play nice with Riedel, he'll write something about this board and all the lovely posters. YOU ALL ARE SUCH WONDERFUL PEOPLE. Your writings are so supportive and encouraging to the casts of so many of these productions. They read this crap and feel so great about the work they are doing. I am sure you all are very please and proud of your actions. I will keep you all in my prayers. I am hoping all of your mothers are praying for you as well.
GOD BLESS YOU ALL..
I'm sure that I'll be getting bashed and S**T on with this post...but TOO BAD TOO SAD, I'LL GET OVER IT. However, your actions are hurting so many it's a shame to even be a part of this board. GOODBYE AND A FOND FAREWELL. I RELINQUISH MY POSTING TO THIS BOARD.

lady italy: everything else youve said may be up for debate, but im hard pressed to believe that people who have the BALLZ to get on a broadway stage every night get depressed over cr^p they read on an internet message board. simply not possible.
oh, and we never heard WHO you were relinquishing your posting to -- did you leap before you finished your sentence?!?!?!
(sorry ... i know that was mean, but it was just too FUNNY to leave go! chalk it up to more cr^p on an internet message board, i guess ...)
So Miss Italy, when THE PIRATE QUEEN closes within a month and YOUNG FRANKENSTIN confirms the Hilton, what will you say then?
Is someone holding a gun to their heads, forcing them to read the boards? If it's so upsetting, they should go watch TV instead.
Or read a book.
A what?
Oh, right, I forgot. Wrong board.
OK, I'm sorry, but where's the proof of any of these things?
I have no doubt that the Pirate Queen is going to close fairly soon based on the reviews... but instead of dropping names, could someone just drop a link to an article that has proof of PQ closing and YF taking it's place at the Hilton? Thank you!
Off topic, but don't links that confirm your account expire after 48 hours?

Has anyone here ever heard of Jekyl and Hyde?
Shows do not stay open or close based on reviews. If that were the case Company would run forever, which it is certainly not going to do. All that matters is ticket sales, and PQ's target audience doesn't check Ben Brantley's review before deciding what show to see.
Although I doubt anyone here knows exactly what deal PQ's producers made with the Hilton's owners, usually a theater can only evict a show if ticket sales fall below a specified level, and that level is certainly not 85%. It doesn't matter what Riedel prints, and it doesn't matter what the crew of the St. James theater is told, this is all a matter of contract.
You guys are awesome! I love how you tore down this silly posting.. LOL. I think someone already posted that there is a clause in the contract between the Hilton and PQ.. If I were the owners of the Hilton, I'd be begging Mel Brooks, and Co. to come to my theatre. The buzz alone is going to sell a huge amount of tickets.
See above.
Or below.

Uhh, honey, that show was a flop...so, bad example.
