Broadway doesn't care for you though Kyle.
You are a attention seeking queen and even I am bored with you now.

Michael Musto has a way with the similes & a style book that isn't harsh on the eyes (ahem, buff of the theater):
[T]the show is as thin as a bulimic egret's feather, but when it clicks, it's as infectious as a rabid koala ...
Is Priscilla the queen of Broadway?
Now really- koala's spend the better part of their life stoned on the euclyptus leaves that constitute their diet. They move at approximatley the speed of felt. How dangerous could a RABID one be?
"How dangerous could a RABID one be?"
You would be surprised!
Truly who cares what Kyle has to say?
Congratulations to the cast for all the favorable reviews. I usually don't care much for what the critics say anyway...I listen to the audiences and they were LOVING IT on Saturday night! When you walk into the Palace Theatre you need to leave your troubles at the door. Walk in with an open heart & mind and just enjoy this adventure!!!
Does anyone else find it odd that Brantley chose to review HELLO AGAIN over PRISCILLA? I mean, the production of HELLO AGAIN is one of the best things I've seen in a long time, but it strikes me as weird that the chief theatre critic of The New York Times would review a musical way off Broadway over one of the most anticipated Main Stem musicals of the year.
Not really surprised, no. Brantley didn't much care for Priscilla when he reviewed the West End production. Sending Isherwood was a way for the Times to give the show another critical viewpoint. In this case, Isherwood did not really vary too much from what Brantley wrote.
I forgot that Brantley reviewed the show in London. That makes more sense, then.

Wouldn't surprise me if he did the same thing when Sister Act has its press preview.

" At the peak is the remarkable Sheldon. The Australian actor, who created the role in Sydney, nails the balance of vulnerability and toughness, pathos and pride that keeps Bernadette going.
But Swenson, likable as he is, doesn't have a campy bone in his body, and seems miscast as Tick. Meanwhile, Adams' Popeye biceps are incongruous. When Felicia gets bashed by yahoos, it makes no sense: She looks as if she could easily flatten them all."

"The cast has varying success with the sketchy alter egos. Tony Sheldon plays the clear-headed but over-the-hill showgirl, Bernadette, a role he originated in Sydney five years ago, and he is flat-out wonderful. He's tough and tender, knows how to get a laugh and lets Bernadette's soul shine as bright as his glittery getups.
As a Madonna-mad Adam, Nick Adams, Broadway's Mr. Zero Percent Body Fat, is fittingly bitchy, always ready with a snarky crack. His gym-buffed glutes, showcased in an itty-bitty thong, come within a thread of being TMI.
Will Swenson plays the insecure Tick and appears unsteady both vocally and in the high-camp drag numbers. The writers do him no favor by soaking father-son scenes in gooey sap."
'Priscilla Queen of the Desert' review: Costumes wow, but musical runs out of steam
I'm really happy for all the praise Tony is getting... he really deserves it!

I agree, he's terrific and based on most of the reviews I think only he will be recognized come TONY time. The men's categories are very competitive this year and Swenson and Adams (though getting a nod here and there) were not overly praised in most reviews.
I agree, the best actor category is very competitive this year, but I'm confident about Tony as well...
Will has a very slight change. I don't see him getting a nomination.
If they put Adams as featured actor, I think he stands a chance.
The only way that Tony stands a chance is if Will & Nick are bumped down to featured and with the way they seem to be making Will out to be the star I don't see him getting bumped.
Are we reading the same reviews? Tony Sheldon is getting the most favorable reviews out of the entire cast.
Not the critics, the producers. He gets first billing in everything and the final bow. Believe me, I think Tony deserves all the praise he's getting and a TONY nod (Possible win) for it.
"Probably a few inconceivable surfaces have been accessorized with equally exotic detail, but I hesitate to inquire."
Why is he revealing his fantasies in this way? Who are these buffoons who write these sorts of things nowadways and have their editors all been the victims of budget cuts?
They are desperately hoping you can work this phrase into conversation so they can appear relevant. You're just not trying, Namo.

I tend to agree, although I think Adams will likely be placed in featured and nominated there.
But, Tony Sheldon's performance is Tony worthy. His execution is so effortless. It's really a wonderful performance. (I know, Daniel Radcliffe and the two gentlemen from Catch Me if You Can...but this Priscilla fan can hope, right????)
There's also BOOK OF MORMON and WONDERLAND and maybe one of the actors from SCOTTSBORO BOYS.
I will save my money and stick with the PRISCILLA film. No one can match the incredible Terence Stamp and Guy Pearce. Nick should be kissing his biceps for getting the role and the paycheck.
"No one can match the incredible Terence Stamp and Guy Pearce."
That is an unfair statement to make without seeing these actors in these roles. Sort of like being angry about a movie that wins 'Best Picture' and not even seeing it. How do you know it doesn't deserve the award?
"No one can match the incredible Terence Stamp and Guy Pearce."
Something tells me neither Terence Stamp nor Guy Pearce would be say something as tacky and classless as that.
Guy Pearce congratulating a beaming and appreciative Nick Adams at the opening night party
I can't imagine Tony not being nominated.
