The cast recording is now on sale at the theater for $30.. yes, for the single disc edition.
There's going to be a double disc edition?
It seems like all the songs from the show are on this single disc, except for "What's Love...." I am hoping they will at least offer us the chance to purchase "What's Love..." on iTunes. There has been no mention of a double disc editon like the movie version had. I am assuming TOT was justing pointing out that they are charging so much $$$ for a single disc.
No double-disc, but BB got it right, I was just pointing out the fact they're charging $30 for a CD you can get on Amazon for $12!
I don't understand why Boogie Wonderland and Thank God I'm A Country Boy aren't on the album.
JP2, if you want those 2 songs just get the Aussie Cast recording...I like their "...Country Boy" better for some reason anyway. I was never a big fan of "Boogie Wonderland" I am not sure why they cut them off of this Cast Recording though.
Boogie Wonderland is still in. Just checked the playbill.

Yeah, I have the Aussie cast album. But, I was hoping to have a recording of Tad Wilson singing it. As for Boogie, the Broadway version has a completely different ending, and it's one of my favorite moments in the show.
Ah well.
Looks like Wha'ts Love Got To Do With It is an online bonus track:

I feel bad for Nathan Lee Graham. First Miss Understanding's role gets decreased, then his one song doesn't end up on the OBC, except as a bonus track. I actually bought the OBC tonight at the theatre (yes I paid, I couldn't wait) and was sad to see the track missing.
Miss Understanding was bigger? Elaborate please. :)
Amazon orders are going to be shipped early, went into "Shipping Soon" status today.
The song titles finally populated tonight when I downloaded the CD onto my iPod. It's the little things that make me happy.
Just got the CD, and the new additions (It's Raining Men and Material Girl) are standouts. Pop Muzik is not as good. The Overture, which is basically a shortened version of the original, is included (1:09).
Where are you getting it from besides the theatre? I'm dying to get this album!
For those Canadian fans interested, you can pre-order your copy on Amazon.ca for only $7.99! I orignally ordered it through Amazon.com, and it totaled to 21 dollars. I cancelled my order, and now only have to pay 11 dollars (including shipping). Pretty good deal!
Pop Muzik I like except they seem to have run the lead vocals through a filter. It's bizarre. On the other hand, I love the arrangement for I Will Survive.
The character that sings the song SPOILERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
is a stereotypical Asian mail order bride she sounds the exact same way in the theatre.
Hopefully, they augmented the orchestra as the playbill lists 10 pieces in the orchestra
Sounds like a horror movie title "The Incredible Shrinking Orchestra". They keep getting smaller & smaller. Jule Styne is rolling over in his grave about now.
TheatreFan4, not sure if the Pop Muzik singer comment was a response to mine, but it's not about the accent. It's about her vocals sounding "fuzzy," I guess to make the song more pop-sounding. (Sorry but I don't know the technical terms.) It's not how I remember it in theatre, and I've seen it in London and twice here, and it doesn't sound like that on the Aussie CD.
Pop Muzik isn't on the Aussie CD... Wasn't it a new addition for Broadway?
Taboo, I guess I just haven't noticed...
Pop Muzik is on the Aussie CR.
oh, my bad, found it.
True, does sound better on the Aussie recording.
Amazon has started shipping out the CDs!
