But Cruz did say she would like to explore doing TV again and entertained the idea of working on another musical. “I’m always telling Pedro we have to do a musical together because imagine what kind of musical he would do? It would be incredible. Every time I tell him, he’s like, ‘I know you’re right. But I don’t know maybe one day.'”

In looking at Almodóvar's catalogue... what about Company? He might be the best modern fit for a big-screen version.

How about a Spain-set version of of A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC with Cruz (Desiree), her husband Javier Bardem or Antonio Banderas (Fredrik), Chita or Rita (Madame A), Oscar Isaac (Count), Salma Hayek (Countess), and Ana De Armas (Petra). Either in English or translated into Spanish.
