Performances at the Thanksgiving Day Parade...

I know they start rehearsing around now, but they won't start rehearsing outside by the grandstand at Macy's until the week of Thanksgiving. I've seen them rehearse before, and it's a pretty cool experience.

I guess my bigger question is: Would it be wise of me to book a ticket to a show that is performing at the Thanksgiving Day Parade - hypothetically, that Monday (the 24th) - or, would I run the risk of not seeing the actors that night?

Actors are usually highly encouraged to be in attendance--for every performance, of course--but especially around major holidays. Especially if the show you're looking at is performing on the parade, odds are the actors will be in attendance after promoting the show. I wouldn't say it's any riskier than it usually is.

Specifically SIDE SHOW. I would hate to see it and miss Padgett and Davie because of a rehearsal for that Thurs or something.

I'm sorry if this is utterly ridiculous. I'm just curious.

My friend is in one of the shows that's performing on the parade and they've been having rehearsals during the day before a performance and then do the show that night. Unless someone is ill or has a scheduled absence it shouldn't interfere.

No one will miss a Broadway performance to serve the needs of the parade. The parade is an opportunity to sell the shows. The last thing anyone wants to do is undermine the publicity. My question: what number will SIDE SHOW do? I have to believe it's one of the known ballads, because they are not running from the audience investment in the hits, this time out.

What will SIDE SHOW perform? "Ready to Play" is the replacement for the prior "We Share Everything," infamous for the women splitting apart. But I'm not sure "Ready to Play" is as strong out of context. I'm guessing they will go for a truncated version of the opening, to show the costume/make-up, and then let the girls do one of the two big ballads. The goal now is to sell the tickets, and they have two hit songs which probably do the job the best.
