They will probably do a junior version.
They would be foolish to close before they holidays they will make a killing then.
And yes a tour is still planned I believe.

Posted: 9/28/12 at 11:07amIt seems like a good fit for Disney theatricals. It's got the ingenious of Lion King and a sort of "Batman Begins" type story line. I think with a real score, it could have been super successful.

I wonder if school troupes will be allowed to deviate from using only one female performer.
I can't imagine why they wouldn't be...this show could definitely be done in schools and I'm sure they would want to make the money that would bring in. Plus I'm pretty sure the female cover for Molly on Broadway is also a cover for Mrs. Bumbrake, but I could be wrong.

Posted: 9/28/12 at 11:40amYeah, there is a female understudy for several characters, Mrs. Bumbrake for one, and I think even for Ted if I remember correctly.

I don't see why girls couldn't play some of the other featured roles.
That being said, I love this show and am sad to see it go. Glad I got to see it twice (and hopefully I'll make another trip before January).

Posted: 9/29/12 at 3:50pmMy sense of it is that schools are really itching to get their hands on this property. I have created posters for no less than 3 high school productions of Peter Pan this fall which are going for the same aesthetic (simplified stagecraft, improvisational feel, characters playing multiple parts, etc.). Because "Starcatcher" isn't available yet, they're taking on the earlier work. When it becomes available for licensing, I think you are going to see it everywhere.

Ooo! I can't wait to see all the bad high school videos popping up on youtube.
