I remember a poster I saw in London for Phantom where Christine was essentially naked minus a sheet. I laughed pretty hard, and still have a brochure of it. It's like "SEX! ... now that we have your attention, go see Phantom of the Opera!"

I've seen the poster too. I think it's funny all of Phantom's ads are sexy to the extreme when the Phantom and Christine never actually have sex.

Yes, he was the first, but there are so many others who have out-acted and out-sung (not that hard as his voice isn't the greatest) him, not to mention physical attractiveness.

To each his own, I guess.

With Sir Andrews sensibilities these days, I'm surprised he didn't push for his first slogan idea of "Go down once more!" It has all the subtlety he's known for.

As the only person who mentioned Michael Crawford on this thread, looks like I need to point out I said I'd rather be seduced by Hugh Panaro than him, the not-so-hidden meaning being I'd really really rather NOT be seduced by Michael Crawford.

Especially since, as a Brit, I've never been able to shake Frank Spencer from my mind, no matter how sexy the Phantom's meant to be. O_O

The new(er) promo that they're using everywhere in Vegas (cabs, vegas magazines, billboards etc) is really ugly. It's just the Phantom and Christine's big shock of curly hair. I was wondering what was up with that.

Btw, I kind of want that zippo lighter.
