thirded on the Sara front. As to Sills, firstly why does he appear to be wearing 3 microphones (2 in the center part, on on the left temple), and secondly why is he wearing a wig?

Yeah I heard that there were some fairly major changes instituted for the tour, including 3 brand new songs. Can anyone confirm this?

I know theres at least 1 new song...maybe it will actually be good now? I think a lot of Lippa's songs for the show are catchy though theyre not his typical style.

I hope they gave Doug Sills a great new song to sing... I can't imagine with the horrible reviews on Broadway they wouldn't change SOMETHING for the tour, so happy to hear they did.

Material was added (three new songs, for example) and taken away, and after extended studio rehearsals in New York, he and the performers transferred operations to New Orleans soon after Labor Day.

Further editing was to come, reflecting a process that continued almost up to opening night. "Because we've made changes in the script, we continue to make changes, " said Zaks. "The good changes make more good changes."

...Besides the three new songs, the touring version will devote more attention to the relationship between Gomez and Morticia " an extraordinary couple who regard themselves as a quite ordinary husband and wife. It needed "a stronger conflict between the two of them, " Zaks said, "that they didn't expect, and which needed to be resolved before the end of the evening, and which makes audiences care about the characters."

In the Broadway production, "we just didn't tell the story as clearly and succinctly as we could have, " Oken acknowledged. "What this show needed was a time-out, to step back."

"We are going to give the best story we can give you, " added Zaks, a four-time Tony Award winner who first gained attention for playing the role of Kenickie in the original Broadway production of "Grease." To do that, he does his best to keep his actors free of distraction and feeling safe in the rehearsal room.

I saw the show on Thursday night and thought it was one of the worst shows I had seen. I didn't get to see it in NYC so I can't speak for any changes or new material. It did seem that Morticia had more to do based on what I had read about the show. None of the songs were memorable and only a few of the jokes hit. The biggest laugh was a joke about Charlie Sheen and rehab. The cast was really good, but at one point I was thinking that most of them deserve better.

Read on All That Chat that "Morticia", "Where Did We Go Wrong" and "In The Arms" have been cut and new songs are "Secrets (Alice,Morticia) "Trapped (Gomez)" and now Mal and Alice sing in Crazier.. you

Those were the 3 worst songs, so that's good. Nathan did what he could with "Morticia", but even with him it was grueling. "In the Arms" was one of the worst, most pointless, unfunny songs I've ever heard in any Broadway musical. "Where Did We Go Wrong" replaced "Passionate and True"...they just changed the lyrics to suit being worried about Wednesday, instead of being in love with each other. You could tell.

I'd love to hear the new songs. Mal and Alice singing in "Crazier Than You" is a good idea. Shows them reconcile and gives perfect reason to cut "In the Arms".
