WOOHOO! Lookin' good!
I realize it's not a popular opinion among those who frequent these boards, but I know a busload (literally!) of Upstate New Yorkers who LOVED the original and can't wait to catch the Ogres on tour!
I'm off to catch this in Chicago so I don't have to wait till it comes to Buffalo later on. I found it to be a fun show all around!

Posted: 7/21/10 at 4:54pmurmmm, i dont know which i prefer....Dragon is better....i also like the darker look of the scenery in "I Know It's Today" "Travel Song" and "Donkey Pot Pie"...i think im going to prefer a lot of the visual of the tour, but all in all might prefer the Broadway version, expecially Lord Farquaad hehe

Posted: 7/21/10 at 5:05pmI personally loved the show on Broadway. Sure it's not the greatest but it was judged just by it's cover. The music was great and it's visually very impressive. It looks even better on Tour.

Posted: 7/21/10 at 5:30pmIt looks good, sadly the footage of Peterson's shrek i've seen thus far (the lebron clip, a bit of the taste of chicago performance) disappoints me.

It is more possible that there would be a recording of the forthcoming London production, but even that is unlikely...

#19Photo Flash: SHREK National Tour - First Look!
Posted: 7/21/10 at 7:25pmRmusic, I don't know the definite answer, but I would assume so since "I Know it's Today" is about Fiona growing up stuck in the tower. Would it really make sense as a solo, since the whole point is that she was waiting forever?

I love how we sometimes have to "apologize" for liking a show- everything isn't Sondheim- and it is more than okay for a show to be "just fun" at the theatre and not a pulitzer.
I liked Shrek and it was my daughters first show on Broadway last June-still not sure what was funnier- the show or sitting next to Vince Machmahan and family from the WWE- file under people you never thought you'd see in a Broadway theater!
