I thought she did a very fine, respectable job. It wasn't the best I've ever heard her sound, but I thought she captured the essence of the song and performed it well. Perhaps she was nervous, or maybe it was the 6 inch heels she had on that made her slightly unsteady...she always sounds beautiful, though. =)

Subtle...but sassy! www.the8thavenueobserver.com

The song was just not right for Kristin's voice. It sat in a very strange place for her and she was unable to really make it her own. I don't get why they di d not let Amy Adams do both songs. I also do not know why Amy Adams had NO porduction number to go with her song. I wish they would have done some fantastic puppet work like in the recent CINDERELLA tour that Gabriel Barre directed. Poor Amy was just left to sing alone on stage.

I know Kristin was just used as an ABC tie in to help PUSHING DASIES.. but still.. I felt she was just wrong for the song.

Clearly I love Kristin Chenoweth, so I don't know how seriously anyone is going to take anything I have to say, but none the less I thought she did a good job. No, it wasn't her best performance ever, but it also wasn't really supposed to be about her. She's not supposed to steal attention from the song and from people who are actually winning things. It's not the friendliest audience in the world. Plus, I also think the song just doesn't work that well outside of the film- it's hardly a great song.

Anyway, singing on the Oscars is a BIG deal so congratulations Kristin!

And here's Patrick presenting So Close

>>>If you don't care so much, why did you go out of your way to post in this thread and let us all know that you dislike her, when it's clear that the thread is meant for people who are fans (therefore making your question about being in the "minority" redundant)?

Maybe because I enjoyed the movie, and was surprised at who was performing the song from it.

I love that they staged this with dancers. I wasn't expecting it. If they staged this and "That's How You Know" why not "Happy Working Song"?

This is the best Enchanted performance of the night.

"Amy Adams is a really good actress but she's no singer. She looked terrified all during her number, and she's cute and likable so she got through it, but making her deal with a live production number would have been mean."

Well, it's not like Cheno was any better this performance. I thought Amy did much better than her and has a LOT of talent.

"making her deal with a live production number would have been mean."

I think it would have helped her tremendously. I'd much rather be on stage with other performers that I've been rehearsing with than standing there all by myself.

"You do know Amy Amy was a stage actress before going into the films.. right??"

And all this time I thought she got her start on Smallville. Silly me.

Kidding, I knew lol

Amy is a very talented actress, but I think she would have had a lot of trouble performing a number in front of a huge audience where not only would she have to sing and hit all the notes but she also would have had to land on all her marks and be lifted and so on. It's a lot to deal with if you're not used to it.

Enchanted caught the Dreamgirls syndrome. Oh well, Falling Slowly was really great. I hate how the Oscars give any category besides like "Best Actress, Picture, Director, etc" only 5 seconds to say a speech while the others get longer. Not that I want to hear more speeches, but it's just rude the way they do it.

Oh yeah and So Close was the best of the 3 Enchanted performances.

And the scale is bigger than anything else she's ever done. Billions of people watch the Oscars versus 500 or so people in a theatre. That HAD to be in her head.
