I'm pretty sure Ursula's costume is from the Broadway company. And I kind of like the mermaid skirts.

I saw Jessica Grove as Dorothy in the MSG tour of The Wizard of OZ back in the late nineties - my first Broadway experience! I really like the mermaid skirts.

Kunze is a bit advanced in years to play the Prince, but Grové will probably never see 30 again either. And that Mermaid costume on her is awfully... modest, don't you think?

I'm confused...What do you mean, Grove will "never see 30 again, either"? Perhaps I am misunderstanding. Are you implying she is 30? Or will never play older than 29?

Her official age is 30, meaning she could be 35.

I love that they're using the Ursula costume design from the Broadway production. That was the best part of the whole Broadway fiasco.

Meh. This is theatre and age rules work differently in this context. Kunze still looks great and doesn't register as "old," and neither does the actress playing Ariel. So what if they both appear to be in their 30s. If that ruins the illusion for you, then theatre isn't your thing.

It'll pass and soon I'll be getting yelled at again for being too Pollyanna.

Btw, that Ursula costume looks different from the Broadway version's. I think I like this one better. The Broadway one had these tentacles that looked more like feather boas or like random stuff sewn onto her dress. If this is the same costume, then I need to get my eyes checked cause it looks different.

I think you need your eyes checked dear. If that isn't the same exact costume it is an exact replica. The tentacles, arms, and hair look exactly the same.
