Pippin Tour?

I added about 13 more pics from the show yesterday.
I also took a pic of the "noble". I guess its not Lisa Karlson. She didn't really have a speaking part.
It was my first time watching the show, and at the beginning I was confused as to what was going on. I kept asking, what time period is this happening? I wasn't sure of the plot, but eventually I sort of understood it. Overall, very entertaining, and great show. I was a little disappointed that I didn't recognize any of the songs. I love going to shows and hearing a song and thinking "WOW, so that's where that song is from." But, none of that at this show.

Wow, Magic to Do and Corner of the Sky are pretty much musical theatre standards now--though maybe that's lessening.
In this and the original production it's meant to have an "out of time" feel--arguably in the original that's even more so.

noticed on the tour that Sabrina Harper is now playing Berthe instead of Fastrada. I know she was out of the show last year for about 2 months due to injury. Could the switch be due to not be able to handle all the dancing Fastrada does?? Kate Wesler now players Fastrada. It doesn't even look like Harper covers Fastrada (& the Leading Player).

Is San Jose the last stop?

No, there is still Palm Desert, Sioux Falls, Buffalo, Boston, Providence, Philly and then the Netherlands. Also, Sabrina Harper is back playing Fastrada, and Adrienne Barbeau has returned as Berthe.

When yours travel outside of the country do they still have to follow equity rules? Would they follow the rules of their host countries Union rules?

Equity rules are still in effect, though often times the producers and AEA compromise on some minor things, on a case by case basis. For example, the per diem might be different based on the cost of living in the foreign country, Equity trunks may not be provided, hotel buyout might not be available, etc... But inside the theater, it's business as usual.

I've never seen Pippin, and am excited about seeing it in in Palm Desert, at the McCallum on Tuesday evening, January 12th. If you're there that night, pop by and say hello if you can find me -- I'll be in the middle of the orchestra, and you can recognize me from my photo.
(Slightly OT paragraph coming up).
As far as I know, there aren't too many Broadway World folks who live in or near the Coachella Valley -- you're only the third one I've encountered. (David Green and I are the other two). I'd love to hear your take on the new Palm Springs page.

Does anyone know if there will be any more U.S. cities after the Amsterdam shows?

Pippin on tour is coming to The Hanover Theatre in Worcester, MA, March 30-April 2, 2017.
Does this mean the current tour is continuing, or will there be a second, perhaps non-equity tour? The Hanover's promo material uses the same video montage from the current tour. I can't find any info about a continuing tour.
By the way, I just saw Pippin in Boston and Providence, and this cast is phenomenal. I loved Gabrielle McClinton (stunning), Brian Flores (vocally strong and very relatable as Pippin), and Adrienne Barbeau (a class act). Sabrina Harper and Bradley Benjamin were fantastic, and of course seeing John Rubinstein was a treat.

The 1st National Tour closes in April in Amsterdam. There will be a non-Equity tour staring up in the fall. Will be "interesting" to see how it gets turned into a split week/one-nighter tour.

I also saw the show in Boston on Sunday and thought it was excellent. It was my first time seeing Pippin and I only knew some of the music, but I really enjoyed it. You're right about the cast - not a weak link amongst them. The audience around me (in the front of the mezzanine behind the dress circle) was atrocious, but the show certainly didn't disappoint.

Does anyone know who is producing the upcoming non-equity tour?

I also thought the audience in Boston was poorly mannered. There were loud people around me, and at the start of the show, it took too long for the audience in general to settle down. Disappointing. The audience in Providence was much more attentive and focused on the show from the beginning.

I've been trying to find out if the tour is going non-equity, but haven't been able to find anything. I hope this is true.

ACL2006, trpguyy seems reliable. Also why would you want a non-equity tour?

it's not that I want a non-equity tour, I just simply want the tour to continue. PIPPIN hasn't been popping up on anyone's 2016-17 seasons, so I wonder if it'll be a bus & truck tour.

Well, after they play Philly, it's hitting Amsterdam. I think when that's done, we'll hear more about the tour's status.

So the tour has played its last US stop . Kyle Dean Massey has rejoined for first half of Amsterdam and has already left. It looks like after Amsterdam it is done for good? What a long and great tour.

The tour is going non equity and is being produced by Prather Entertainment, who is also taking over the Bridges national tour. They will have the same costumes and sets. Promos for Pippin were shot last week!

Prather is one of the smaller non-equity tour companies. They primarily own two dinner theaters, one in Fort Myers, Florida, and one in Lancaster, and the tours they produce are a secondary business.
This year, they have the bus and truck of Million Dollar Quartet, which started its season at the theater in Fort Myers for 6 weeks, and closes at the theater in Lancaster for 6 weeks, with 4 months of tour dates in the middle.
