Yes, I saw MC in 1997 here in Los Angeles. She was incredible.
It's very unfortunate that the film version of MC never came to be. Here's a more current article on "Master Class."

After funding for MC fell through, the rights expired and HBO grabbed them and announced that Mike Nichols would direct Meryl Streep in a film adaptation for their network. He soon passed away after that, and nothing ever came of it.
