Planning for my annual trip to Broadway for shows.  considering Proof, Becky Shaw and Schmigadoon to fill my last slot.  I know this is challenging since they have not opened yet, but you have never let me down in the past.  Of these choices, which would be your choice?   Should I even consider Schmigadoon as I never saw the TV version?Thank you in advance!

What are the other shows you’re seeing? I’d personally say Proof and Giant, but if your trip is already filled with plays, you might want to swap out one of them for Schmigadoon. I wouldn’t recommend Becky Shaw based on its previous off-Broadway mounting.

So far I have -

Death of a Salesmen

Ragtime

Chess

Dog Day Afternoon

Fallen Angels

Giant

and The Ballusters.

Do you think I will enjoy Schmigadoon if I never watched the TV version?  And THANK YOU for your advice!

Giant is the unmissable show of the spring, for me.

Dale, we don't know you so none of us know what you'd like. But if this video makes you interested, then book Schmigadoon! since they have not made many changes since Kennedy Center and the main cast is the same.

Out of those four options?  Proof and Giant.  Something good might open at the Shubert Theater too so there could be one more option.  No interest in Rocky Horror?

Should I be concerned that I never saw the TV show?

We have very similar lineups. The thing I’m deciding between is Giant vs Fear of 13

I usually prefer musicals and comedy,  but I saw most of the best ones last year.  I highly recommend Death Becomes Her even though the cast has changed since last spring.  I'm not crazy about the plot of Giant, but I cannot ignore the awards it received in London.  Also, I am not fond of the lead actor in 13.
