So, yesterday, I saw the matinee of Wicked. The only understudy was Fieryo. To say I hated is a bit too much but it definitley was not worth 100$. Our seats were pretty good but I will never go see it again. And, not to blame it all on Wicked but my friend was not in the best of moods and she will NEVER come to NYC with me again..lol- long story. Anyway- I don't know- Wicked just didn't hit me on the right note. I went to FB: SVU afterwards and I enjoyed that a lot better than Wicked. The actors and actreses in Wicked were awesome, I think it was more the plot of the show was boring and uninteresting to me. Then again, to each their own. My favorite chatacter I have to admit was Nessa Rose- I thought she was excellent. G(a)linda (JLT) was very good also, I loved the big bubble thing. Elphaba (Shoshana) was good also but personally I wasn't feeling it. Maybe it was me but she didn't seem to be fully in character. I know she was sick a few days ago and for some reason I didn't feel she was all the way there although since I have never seen it before, I wouldn't know. I have to say the understudy for Fieryo was hot tho!
Forbidden Broadway was really good. To listen to the CD does not at all get the funny points that actually 'seeing' it does. With specifically: Bombay Wet dreams, Lion King, Avenue Q and Wicked there is no way you can get the idea from hearing it on the CD. It's an extremely small theatre and I did feel some of the actors voices were way too loud for that theatre but it was still a really funny show.
So, that was my experinece yesterday at Wicked and FB.
*Ducks down for flying objects to be thrown at me*
Ps. I don't have any pictures from Wicked execpt for the understudy of Fieryo because supposedly 'they' (the other actors and actresses) tend to order food in after a matinee. Oh-well.
I won't shoot you! :) lol
I love JLT, she's so nice.
Bang
Raggy Q poo, I really don't think you should worry about it. You are entitled to your opinion and should not let the "Wicked" fans, or the fans of any show, hold you back from saying what you feel about a show.

It's okay. I won't shoot you, I'll just keep my anger to myself...

Oh well, no one said Wicked's perfect.

Glad to hear that we all do not think alike here. I saw Wicked with a group of 8 people and 4 liked it while 3 did not with one person having no feelings about it at all. I felt the book adaptation was all over the place-- unfocused. Most of us agreed that there was way too much screaming and annoying heavy gasping/breathing from Idina. I do understand and respect others liking and supporting any show. That's what keeps theatre folks working!

Sorry, that came off rude... Im sorry.
Hey don't worry! I hated "Ave Q" and I survived w only minor shrapnel wounds. ( they only ache when ""it sucks to be me " plays.)

sabrelady-
Your funny!
Avenue Q is my favorite show! But, hey- thats why there is vaniella and chocalate and...
Can I ask why you disliked it?
There's vaniella?
Awesome. I must try it!
AQ is fun live - but after a while the CD just makes me want to claw out my ears and jump into a spinning, large industrial-sized fan.
I didn't feel it either. However my 11-year-old daughter couldn't breathe when it was over. She was hyperventilatingly overwhelmed the way I remember getting when I saw Peter Pan fly. So even though I found flaws aplenty, I forgive Wicked for rocking my kid.

Erm... I wouldn't put you down for disliking it. I'd probably give you a standing ovation.
Yeah, no one will shoot you. On this board, it's cool to dislike "Wicked." Now, if it were "Avenue Q," then I'd worry for ya...

I don't think anyone should feel as if they have to say sorry for liking or diliking any show. It's all a matter of opinion.
not everyone likes the show. Some do some dont but it doesnt matter. what matters is that you tried it and found out.
