Oh, no, if she was returning I'd see it just for her, of course, but she was so criminally underused the first time around, and she has much, much better things to do than do a return engagement for a minor role. I'm sure they contacted her about it, and I'm sure she would have likely said yes, honestly, but she'll be busy.

They/them. "Get up the nerve to be all you deserve to be."

Ugh, first heard about this last week from a friend who saw the production (I didn't see it here and I live across the street from the theatre).  I know some of the people are excited but MEH.  I saw the OBC when it first opened and I didn't see what all the fuss was about.  Didn't like Lola but liked Charlie. In today's "RuPaul's Drag Race" world, there seems to be a lot more drag queens who could play with role with the fierceness and intensity it deserves.  Very underwhelmed with Porter's performance.  Would have like to have seen  Wayne Brady do it but unfortunately the draw to see this show again was very very low.

I will say that when that guy who took over Charlie (his name escapes me but he was in "Something and the Disco"?  I know, I'm a nerd) the crowds at the stage door were enormous.  We could hear them screaming for him from our apartment 10 stories up.  Same could said about Todrick Hall too.

I grabbed a last minute rear mezz seat for the performance last night (moved up a few rows at intermission), and I can honestly say that it was probably one of my top ten theatrical experiences of my life. This was my third time seeing the show, but my first time seeing Sands and Porter. They breathed such life into the material! I was a little worried that the third time would be a little much for me as I think the show is good, but nothing that I would need to see multiple times. However, this show is definitely my favorite of the three performances that I've seen. It was like I was watching a completely different show. I found myself smiling throughout the entire performance. The audience enthusiasm was definitely leaning more towards Porter, but that was to be expected. He was absolutely phenomenal, adding choice riffs and runs that I can honestly say enhanced the material and the meaning of his songs. "Not My Father's Son" had me in tears. Sands was fantastic as well! He seemed a little under voice (optioned down on a note in "Soul of a Man", and could not sustain the final note of the same song), but overall the best Charlie I have seen. I feel like that role is really tricky. I am so glad that I was there for the return of these two and I would definitely recommend that everyone go and see them! They really have brought new life into this piece.

In never had a desire to see this show but won the lottery a few weeks ago, who can pass up anything for $40. J Harrison Ghee (as Lola) blew it out of the water. WOW. Charlie on the other hand was a snooze. I would see J again in a heartbeat.

Has the original key for Soul of a Man been restored? Stark Sands is quite great in this role. It can be a tricky part the way it's written Sands can SING, so he must be under the weather if he was opting down and couldn't sustain the end. He's quite capable as a vocalist.

Yes it was back in the original key!

I’ve been looking for coupon codes - and I’ve found some on Broadway box, theatermania and playbill but when I plug them in they end up increasing the price. Has anybody else noticed this?

I haven't seen prices increase, but the codes don't seem to work. For me, the prices stay the same.

I don't recall what code I used but I went Thursday night with a code that gave me a $107 ticket in row J seats 2 & 4 which was a great view.   I want to say I got the code through TheaterMania and bought the ticket a month in advance, 8/24.  Check the fine print on the code--are the prices not changing because it's a black out day of the week?  Trying to help!  Current code there is THM11

I just came back from seeing the 3pm performance. I have seen the full OBC right after their Tony win and then again a year later with Porter and John Jeffrey Martin (On for Andy Kelso), but finally returned this afternoon to see Billy and Stark again. I must say Billy Porter is at the top of his game. I loved him before and loved him even more now. It is not that he changed is performance, but he just had some moments were I just found tears streaming down my face or found myself laughing at something that wasn't there before. He just is a beautiful performer that brought so much joy to a very giving audience already. Stark's acting was phenomenal, especially the "Charlie has a breakdown and takes it out on Lola" scene. I did notice that his vocals were pulled back and he did option off some high notes in "Step One", and really riffed down the end note of it as well. But to me he WAS Charlie! They just seems to work off each other so well. Just a very high energy performance and after 4 years it is still as strong as ever. DeLaney Westfall is an absolutely beautiful Lauren, but Annaleigh will always have my heart.

I did see Jerry Mitchell at intermission. I am sure he is very proud his show is in amazing hands!

KBBOX9 is the code we used and got Orchestra Row H 2 & 4 for $127 each, but there were lower price options. I hope this helps.

Already? He's only been there a week. Do they do the 5/show weekend? That might be why.

How long has kinky boots been having a Monday night show? Was this recently added?

I was disappointed.  His understudy was good and gave it his all, but I kept imagining what Porter would do with the role.

I saw Porter and Sands tonight and thought they were absolutely wonderful. I really want Porter to be Dolly when Bernadette leaves. I'm totally serious. I think he'd be fabulous.

I saw this last week, and got really cheap tickets at the TKTS booth about 15 minutes before curtain. I agree, Sands and Porter are both absolutely stellar. I saw them both 4 years ago, and they've lost nothing. There are definitely some discount codes floating around, and TodayTix also has it relatively often at a decent price. But it's worth putting down some money to see these two together.

I got a TKTS ticket for $75. It was mid-mezzanine (row M) but the theater is small enough that I didn't feel like I was missing out on much of the action.

I actually did a Harvey Fierstein double-bill yesterday and saw Torch Song in the afternoon and Kinky Boots at night:

5 years on -- and they've just released a new music video!

It's an acoustic version of "Not My Father's Son", performed by Stark and Billy and produced, arranged, and directed by Cyndi.

I was at their final performance this afternoon. Lovely performance, wonderful energy, and big ovations after "Soul of a Man" and "Hold Me in Your Heart."
