I am watching The Biggest Loser, and I believe they just said there would be a preview of "Grease: You're The One That I Want" following the show.
Not sure how that is going to work, but just wanted to give everyone a heads-up.
YUCK!
Its previewing now... nothing major.
Is that Wilson Jermaine Heredia in Medium?
YUCK!!
I gotta say...this actually got me more interested in the show. Not to see the performers, but because Kathleen Marshall is involved...I had no idea! That actually makes me think this show (and the revival) might legitimately be worth seeing.
yes it was Wilson on Medium!!

Bumping this to ask a question...
I saw a commercial on TV earlier and I'm pretty sure I saw Jason Celaya [played Matthew in Altar Boyz] auditioning. Does anybody know if it's him? I only saw him for a second in the commercial, so I'm not sure. If it is, I'm really, really excited for this show. He's one of my favorite Altar Boyz.
I don't know why people are so negative about this Grease NBC show. Is everyone really that out of touch with pop culture?

Al Dente, apparently you did not catch my mini-rant:

I'm happy for Wilson on Medium.
yes, al, my god how could you have missed that?
I second the rant on this one. Are they going to allow people to phone in and vote for their favorites, too? Great way to cast a professional musical production!
I'm excited for it. It's going to bring a lot more attention to broadway.
Me too.
I still think Kathleen Marshall should be ashamed.
I mean a paycheck is a paycheck, but i feel this cheapens Broadway and her.

Speak for yourself. I wouldn't watch this crap anymore than I'd waste my time watching "The Apprentice". It's crap TV. There are too many other good shows on these days.

Kate Marshall's reputation has already been tarnished by her abysmal "direction" of the film version of The Producers, which now is the dictionary definition of "photographed stage play."
The film turned out to be a turkey the size of Godzilla and deservedly so. Associating herself with this reality show dreck certainly doesn't help her cause.
Excuse me, but Kathleen Marshall did not direct the film version of The Producers. It was directed by Susan Stroman, and while it is a photographed stage play it is not as abysmal as most people think, IMHO. At the very least it preserves Lane and Broderick (who was better in the film than on stage.)
As for the T.V. show, I agree with all who say YUCK.
yeah, rather Marshall recently recived rave reviews for her work as director/choreographer for both "The Pajama Game" and "Wonderful Town". She also directed the recent Disney movie version of "Once Upon a Mattress", which I enjoyed, but i think recieved mixed notices.
As per my feelings for the show, I don't really care that much. I just feel like they're televising auditions, which really doesn't bother me all that much. It's not like they're sucking away actors' jobs like tripe such as "The Real World" and "Laguna Beach". (IMO, all those shows do is fill airtime with absoulute dung that simply deny actors jobs.)
