Posted: 12/21/11 at 4:08pmI think the 3D Seating Charts are cool, but it is ridiculous they STILL don't offer the Pick Your Own Seat option like TicketMaster!!!

Posted: 12/21/11 at 4:43pmThe ability to choose your seats directly from the seating chart will be offered in the next month or two. There are still a few things we need to fix before we turn that on. Over the next few months we'll be adding more features and fixes. What you're seeing now is only a preliminary version of the new site.

Posted: 12/21/11 at 4:44pmI've gotten consistently great customer service from telecharge, but I must add my self to the list of users who want to pick our own seats.

Posted: 12/21/11 at 5:04pmAm I crazy, or is there no way to specify what price range you want your tickets to be? Looking at something like End of the Rainbow, the balcony option only shows me the $70 seats, not the $35 ones. I could be missing something?

Posted: 12/21/11 at 8:49pmTo buy tickets at a specifc price, go to the Schedule & Pricing tab and click on the price you want. That will take you to the Find Tickets page so you can pick your other parameters (dates, quantity), and then submit your search.

Even without the "pick your own seats" feature, I always liked Telecharge more than Ticketmaster when buying for Broadway shows. The ability to easily pick the next best seats and so on made it easier to search for tickets in different sections of the theater without having to begin a new search.
That said, I am looking forward to the feature and thanks for keeping us posted on updates (and actually listening to your customers).

I just tried it. While I like the 3D seat feature (though not entirely necessary for me, I've been in plenty of theaters to comfortably judge myself how close/far back a seat is), I am not sure I like the setup...I prefer the current one. The Beta version is text-heavy and all over the place with too many checkboxes and dropdowns. The added features (such as custom event search feature) are also not really an incentive for me, since I am capable of doing my own research on a show. And I really don't need to search for multiple events at once.
I don't think some of the added features are necessary, but then again, that's just me. I think the only real improvement I would appreciate would be the "choose your own seat" feature.
But again, thanks for posting.

I think when you get to seats selected, this gets to be a little too much:
"One recommended seating option(s) are reserved for three minutes. Click on the seats to see the price and view from the seat, click a second time to select them, and then click buy. Or, click a third time to deselect seats"
It's in small writing, not as many people are as tech savvy to remember how many times to click, and the views from the seats are not that helpful to be honest.
Also, looking at Lysistrata Jones for example, do you really need to give the layperson TEN $130 options to choose from? It's overcomplicated enough.

Posted: 12/22/11 at 1:11pmI have used Telecharge a lot for tickets. The only problem I have had is entering codes for discounts at times.

I appreciate you asking for feedback. I feel similarly to others-the website feels too busy-too many choices, dropdowns, bells and whistles. The 3D interactive map is cool, but slows things down and is really no different than a static seating chart.
It seems a bit laborious to order tickets. Elderly folks will have a difficult time with this.
I look forward to the choose your own seat option.

The "type of event" selection is kind of half and half for me. If I wanted to search for just any Broadway musical, I probably wouldn't go to a website that only sells tickets for half the theatres. It's helpful to filter the results, but I'm not sure the intended user is supposed to be. I would imagine most people who use Telecharge know what they're buying tickets for, and aren't the tourists who want to see a "Broadway musical". Those people tend to end up on third party broker sites and pay double the price $40 in fees without knowing any better.
I do like the "what's new" filter option, though.
