5 minutes!? it only takes me 45seconds to get picked up.. re: The Big Pink Bus Has Departed haha jokes all!

it's when they're at it in the interval at the back of the auditorium you know things have gone too far! :P

Now the marquee is up I'm getting very excited about seeing this show. Still haven't got my special outfit ready yet for March 25th - I must pop into Primark for a cheap jacket that I can customise!

Talking of which, I'm planning on going to Oliver! on March 3rd in full Dickensian garb including top hat! I should get some photos taken and post them here.

And believe me hotjohn, having worked on this show for six months in Melbourne, whatever you chose to wear when you see it, you'll feel completely at home! re: The Big Pink Bus Has Departed

re: The Big Pink Bus Has Departed

Is the front of the theatre floodlit when there is a show playing? If so that is why it looks dark. As "mama" says there is a silver shoe to be added, I expect that will be floodlit, thereby finishing the picture.

I read here that they were restricted as to what could go on the building for "historical reasons".

re: The Big Pink Bus Has Departed

i don't whether it's just me, but i feel it looks a little dated, and (like SANDM2 said) dull. Almost like its been there for years and the lights are starting to fade..

re: The Big Pink Bus Has Departed

They are very much restricted as to what they can do to the actual building. An application to paint the entire front pink and purple didn't even get past the first meeting with the council.
Admittedly the full lighting isn't on yet but i still feel it is lacking something even when this shoe arrives.
Just think back to how great the theatre looked for its last show, 'Spamalot' and the attention to detail that they gave the advertising.

Didn't they auction off stuff like the big grail from the front? I wonder which rich...person..got that! re: The Big Pink Bus Has Departed
I remember The Woman In White was quite each catching because it had that hologram thing, and the Spamalot advertising was just cool!
I'm so specific =P

re: The Big Pink Bus Has Departed

It looks to me like the whole theatre will be flood lit as there were big lights in position behind the marquee, they were just not on!

The stage is set!
The company move into the Palace Theatre today (Mon) for a full 3 weeks of in-house rehearsals

3 weeks, that sounds expensive, although I'd imagine a lot of the choreography would have to adapted to the smaller stage hence the three weeks in the theatre prior to previews.
