Problems with Telecharge Website

Hi all,

I know from using it previously and from multiple threads on this topic some time ago that the Telecharge website is hardly the most user friendly when it comes to buying theatre tickets.  However I have used it to successfully buy tickets when needed (I live on the other side of the world so trips to Broadway are once a year usually).

I have a trip planned with my parents in August and have been trying to sort out our theatre schedule.  Having successfully bought tickets to a couple of shows through Ticketmaster, I went to Telecharge to look at options for a number of shows that are sold through them.  I bought tickets to Come From Away, but now find that I cannot access their website from my laptop, iPhone or iPad when connected to my home WiFi.  I can only presume that I have been "blocked" for performing too many searches, which is exceedingly frustrating.

I have emailed Telecharge (finding the email address was another issue as I can't even get to their contact page) but was wondering if anyone else has experience with this and knows how long it might be before I can get back on their website.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions / advice

I've never heard of someone being blocked from excessive searching. I'm sorry, but I don't have any advice since you have tried multiple devices.   It could just be something odd with telecharge themselves.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

I've recently had problems as well. My account got locked (no clue why??  maybe too many unsuccessful logins/) and I had to call customer service to get it unlocked and a new password.  But I was also having trouble seeing all of the seats available for purchase at some points too.  I ended up switching browsers and having success then.  It was all super annoying....and never seems to happen on ticketmaster.

If you're getting the message with the red lettering that says you're unable to access that feature of the site, then, yes, you're IP address has probably been flagged. I've been blocked several times, as have many others, when doing excessive searching for Dear Evan Hansen tickets. Telecharge will tell you it's temporary, but I was blocked for almost 2 weeks, until I fixed the issue myself. The only solution I found was to unplug my modem and router overnight, at least 8 hours, so that my Internet Service Provider would automatically assign me a new IP address. If your ISP uses dynamic IP addresses, that should work. Also, a temporary workaround for your laptop would be to download the Opera web browser, which has a VPN option. If you turn on this option, the browser changes your IP address to a virtual one, for privacy.

I'm biased because I know some people who work there, but have you given SeatGeek a shot? Their website is way more user-friendly than Telecharge, but they have all the Telecharge shows available for purchase. It even lists "Telecharge" as the seller (because their site also offers re-sellers that have to be listed).

Thanks for this info - not getting any red lettering but definitely an IP address issue as when I use mobile data on my phone I can access the website without any issue.

Not sure if my ISP uses dynamic or static IP addresses but will try switching it all off tonight. Otherwise will download a VPN app.

So frustrating - almost makes you think they don’t want to sell tickets! I would visit the box office for tickets but living in New Zealand makes that option a tad challenging!!

Thanks again for the suggestions

No, I hadn’t thought of that. Always thought they were exclusively a re-seller, similar to stubhub. Thanks for the suggestion. Will check it out.

I got blocked too, and when I called, the guy said that it was because once upon a time (literally a decade ago) my identity was stolen, so apparently I show up as a criminal. Seriously. He even looked at my past history and saw that I've bought probably a hundred tickets through them over the years, and sheepishly didn't know what to say. I usually buy in person so it's not huge issue, and I was able to get around it by setting up a new account with an alternate email. Still... this is stupid and frustrating. All they're doing is hurting ticket sales.

Anyway, I searched and found this thread today because I'm having a different issue, which is that the site itself is running so slowly that I can't even search for the tickets I want. (I'm on telechargeoffers, com specifically.) Is anyone else having this problem lately? I'm planning to walk over to the theatre to buy what I want, but I want to be able to search the seats from my computer! I've tried on two different browsers, and they both seem to be spooling forever. I was wondering if this is just me and my apparently wonky account, or my computer having an issue, or if this is universal. I know it's not the greatest site in general, but it's never been this bad.

I can't say that this has happened to me today, but it definitely has in the past; I might even go so far as to say that it happens frequently.
