The recent posting in the "Into the Woods" at Delacorte thread got me thinking, what musicals could work really well in a setting similar to Sleep No More? Into the Woods obviously comes to mind, imagine following the characters through their chance meetings in the woods, exploring different areas, even meetings which are only suggested in the script (an ACTUAL kingdom of the giants, the ball).
Any other musicals that come to mind?
Guys and Dolls would be amazing in a real environmental walk-about like SNM. Think of all the neat environmental locations - the Hot Box, the sewer, the mission, the surrounding streets and buildings, Havana, etc. If you populated that with more "realistic" mobsters and molls, it could feel even dangerous and with a little creativity, which PD has in spades, I think this would be really fascinating!
Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark.
Naked Boys Singing....oh wait that's Fire Island's Meat rack never mind
It would have to be a plotless musical to work, so that scrambling the order of scenes wouldn't hurt the play.
I'd pay to see what they could do with COMPANY, ASSASSINS, or especially FOLLIES!!!
Company would be fun to explore. I'd love to see what Maxine Doyle would do for the choreography on that.
With a small audience, Next to Normal in an actual house. With certain rooms set aside for Natalie's school and Diana's psychotherapy/hospital.

So, you'd have to have HOW MANY musicians???
