And I swear to God, I thought after their big "confessions" they were going to sing a Tori Amos song. And that would have put me over the edge.

I was really pissed about the sexual abuse thing and how gimmicky they treated it.

I read on TWOP that Ryan Murphy literally came into the writers' room and was like "I want to have SJP sing "At the Ballet," make it happen." So that explains the scene, IMO.

Jimmy, what are you doing here in the middle of the night? It's almost 9 PM!

And to have Sam be so overly-sensitive about how the lights being out reminds him of his poverty, and then to be insensitive about Ryder's story

LOL! That thing with Sam is the very definition of this shows horrendous writing.

Ha, I didn't even think about that, but, umm, yeah.

I'm not surprised by that TWOP comment--I've heard that even when Murphy is busy with his other projects, he still chooses and "carefully places" every single song for Glee.

I think the molestation part wasn't meant to be a theme in the episode or change the focus of the series, it was just a secret that Ryder had and needed to get out. I liked the way it was treated because it did show the double standard, and I felt it was a more powerful statement than to just have a PSA moment in the show. I hate when shows try to convey morals ala Secret Life, Glee does it in a more darker fashion, and with more artistic motivations behind it.

At the Ballet was beautifully staged and beautifully performed the only flaw I could find was Santana and Rachel doing the crescendo together, I would've preferred hearing just Lea. Kurt has an angelic voice, and I found his story was quite touching and relatable.

Ha I completely forgot about the Call On Me aerobic thing (which only struck me as odd really because they seemed to show Blaine making eyes at the only other guy in class but then dropped that.)

"Glee does it in a more darker fashion, and with more artistic motivations behind it. "

Right! Like their gay bullying suicide story (wow--artsy--the bully was the victim) and their eating disorder episode, and... *nods*

IZZY? Is Izzy's Baby also on the show?

Gawbless you people who can actually get through an episode of that show, not to mention those of you who watch it regularly.

Question About GLEE's - For Ryan Murphy's spank bank

I'm pretty sure we've seen Blaine workout more than Finn, Puck, or Ryder, and Blaine's not even an athlete archetype

Don't you dare besmirch the good name of Izzy's Baby!

I always thought that what At the Ballet really needed was breathy, whisper-singing and autotune.

I just watched the clip (but do not watch Glee). What was the connection for this song? Was is really suppose to be autobiographical (for the characters)? Were audience members NOT suppose to understand this was an already existing song?

I am so confused. (That being said, the actress playing Santana (?) sounded and looked beautiful.)

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

I couldn't stand the way she slid all over the notes in "ballet."

I don't watch the show either. I've been through enough in my life.

Eric, everyone's entitled to their opinion, I thought the gay bullying and suicide theme in Blaine's Cough Syrup was flawlessly executed.

"What was the connection for this song?"

Sarah Jessica Parker, Kurt's boss for 30 seconds, needed help with a ballet fundraiser.

And I would still like to see Santana play Julie in Show Boat. With good direction, I think she could put over a good "Bill".

Wynbish, where did you get that gif? I think it's been doctored because when you look at Darren Criss's nose straight on, it looks like his face is f*cked up because his nose is mashed down.

"Eric, everyone's entitled to their opinion, I thought the gay bullying and suicide theme in Blaine's Cough Syrup was flawlessly executed. "

I can think of a few characters on that show that I'd like to see flawlessly executed.

You people are the biggest hypocrites. You guys bash this show constantly but it's clear you watch every episode and listen to the covers of their songs. If you really hated this show as much as you claim you do, than you guys would just stop watching it and stop talking about it but OBVIOUSLY it still entices you. Bash glee all you want but don't be all high and mighty about how you think this show is dumb cause i know all of u hypocrites are watching the next episode or atleast listening to the covers.

broadway guy, it's a phenomenon called "hate watching". And it has helped Glee be renewed for two more seasons, so there's that.

It is also possible for others to like a show and think that one episode or part of an episode is a little off.
