#1Questions about West Side Story. Blithe Spirit and Fuerzabrata

Might be taking a spur of the moment trip this Saturday and had a couple questions on these shows...
West Side Story--want to try the lottery, so how are the front row seats? I ask because I had third row seats at Gypsy and was craning my neck.
If that doesn't pan out, might try the $36.50 balcony seats for "Blithe Spirit." Are they any good or do they make enjoying the show impossible. Have had both good and bad luck being that far away in the past.
As for "Fuerzabrata," just wanted to find out if it's any good. I know it's not for all tastes and that you stand for 70 minutes...just trying to get a consensus from those who've seen it.
Thanks in advance.

(spoilers?)
You can't see bodies on the ground after people have been killed, but other than that the view is fine... personally I found it to be a bit too close during the Anita rape scene, just because it's very intense being that close...

West Side Story: the stage is way too high at the Palace Theater. If you are in the front row, you might not be able to see their feet. However, if this is the only way you can afford to see it, then definitely go for it, since the show is wonderful.
Blithe Spirit: the $36.50 seats are pretty horrible at the Shubert. That balcony doesn't have the greatest view, however you might be able to move down. When I saw the first preview, there were a bunch of side orchestra seats empty.

If you are a student Blithe Spirit has student rush. $26.50 2 hours before the show. The seats are best available I think someone got center Orc row J.
Also WSS has $46.50 balcony seats

Thanks! Sounds like a definite for "Fuerzabrata" in the evening.
Definitely working on a budget and am willing to hit the TKTS booth for either WSS or Blithe if the WSS lottery doesn't pan out.

I'm about 25 years too old for student rush, but thanks for the suggestion. Wish general rush was more prevalent.
I'll keep those balcony seats for WSS in mind too.

Posted: 3/2/09 at 3:19pmFuerzaBruta is INCREDIBLE. Really really amazing. Make sure you wear clothes that can get wet, and check all of your electronics etc. at the door.

ok just trying to help
Also I know Blithe has been on TDF if you're a member. Also I know there are discounts out check Broadwaybox.com & playbill.com
Also a word of advice on TKTS
They don't let u pick you're seats and they very well could sell u an obstrcuted view seat. If you print out a discount ocde you can go directly to the box office and pick you're seats.
Also What's Fuerzabruta?

Fuerzabruta is a lot of fun. I think it is even more fun if you go with someone. I went alone and met a few people there and I had a blast. The music rocks (I bought the CD in the lounge after the show). Dress casually. I suggest getting there a bit early if you want to check your coat. (And I suggest you do!) When I went there was a long line. (And the coat check people were not nice!)I got upstairs about 15 minutes before the show started to get a spot. They have benches to sit on if you don't want to stand that long before the show. But you will find out that you probably won't end up standing at the end of the show where you were at the beginning! it's a blast! Have fun!

I live by discount codes and TKTS, so I know the drill, but thanks. And single seats are much easier.:)
Have the one for Blithe ($69.50 I believe) and Fuerzabrata ($39).

Posted: 3/2/09 at 3:35pmI haven't seen Fuerzabruta, but De La Guarda was one of the best theatrical events I've ever seen. If it is still running, I plan to see it this summer.

Do not miss Fuerzabruta. It's amazing and exhilarating!
As corny as this sounds: I found De La Guarda to be one of the most religious experiences of my life. FB doesn't QUITE live up to it but it is NOT to be missed!
