I just went to google and typed in "tango to hell" ...it was the first one that popped up!
"I think it was the Korean tour or something. They were all frickin' asian!" -Zoran912
No problem you guys.
I love that one video clip where Anthony is singing in La Vie Boheme on the table (To days of inspiration, playing hookey etc.) The singing plus his movements as he sang were really fun.
Good lord, people...

I am so curious about the pre-broadway Rent songs. Can I get the songs somewhere?
Thank you so much.
Actually, for those expecting something radically different out of "Right Brain", don't. It's basically the melody of "One Song Glory" paired with different lyrics. Personally, I'm VERY glad that Jonathan Larson overhauled a lot of the material. I'd say he rewrote over half the show at least.
Kay, the Thread-Jacking Jedi
Quando omni flunkus moritati (When all else fails, play dead...)
"... chasin' the music. Trying to get home."
Peter Gregus: "Where are my house right ladies?!"

Which reminds me...in late 2003, I wrote a screenplay for RENT that, me being the naive RENThead I was, I attempted to send to Warner Bros., but it didn't have correct postage and was returned. I've been revising it a little bit lately, because there's stuff from Stephen Chbosky's first draft that I really liked, and I think the fans at BWW want to see it. When I get space, I'll post it.
I found this I guess its a blog with just two songs on it- "Right Brain" and "Over It". I am not sure if I can post it here so PM me if you want it!
Typing "tango to hell" on google didn't work for me either, can you put the url here please?
Also, if there is a NYTW recording out there, can someone PM me?

No......there is no 'official' recording.
However, with the recent resurgence of RENT'S popularity, I think the 'powers that be' might wish to explore releasing the material. I'm sure that someone involved with the workshop posesses a high-quality recording, and with a little re-mastering, would make an interesting CD. And I'm sure it would make a tidy little profit too!

Since we're mentioning the old lyrics we liked, I really like in "Out Tonight" Mimi sang, "I've got an itch, to be a b**ch" instead of, "Have got nack from way back."
Have got nack from way back." - what does that mean exactly? Is it a sexual reference? I always thought the lyrics were
"I've had a nack, from way back for breaking the rules once I learned the game"

Oh my gosh.
I just found the 1994 NYTW script. Wow - there are some really "interesting" choices of phrases there (putting it mildly). I'm so glad he revised it!

I have the full recording, I can upload it if anyone wants.
I have it uploaded, anyone who wants it, pm me.
Funnily enough, I just found out that the Artistic Director of my college's theatre department was the Assistant Director of the NYTW production.
Thanks for the link, broadwaygirl. And if I may say so, your avatar is AWESOME!!! kitkatt I love yours too. :)
let's just say that the NYTW was a work in progress.. thus being called a workshop. No it was not perfect and probably wouldn't have done AS well had that version been moved directly to broadway. Maureen had aids back in the first workshop.. everyone was sick but mark. Maureen had a lot more songs but, they weren't very strong songs..maybe because the actress playing maureen could not really do JL's music justice. The guy playing Roger was painful to listen to. I'm so glad that JL fixed it up and replaced "Real Estate" with "What You own" and took female to female out for "Take Me Or Leave Me".. also "You'll get over it" is much better suited as "Tango Maureen". While a song between Mark and Maureen would have been fun.. it just works better with Maureen being a diva and Joanne/mark b*tching about her. Updated On: 3/5/06 at 10:51 PM
