Everything does make sense now... i've never heard that phrase in my life, but good to know :)
I must add that i also love (well, hate cause it makes me cry) Collin's reaction when Mimi says she saw Angel and that she looked good at the end of YE.
btw, also love that the thread hasn't turned into a complaint thread!

I love the hug at the end of WYO. As cheesy as it is... it's kind of a nice culminating action for the two of them :]
I think that the hug is sweet.
I love the people who complain that the hug isn't slashy enough.
Those people...grr. I love that hug! It's really sweet. I'm glad they had it. I liked the end of WYO more than the beginning. I liked all of Anthony's parts and...Adam's hair! Lol. My fave scene was prolly...La Vie Boheme. I also love how they did Glory and Out Tonight and Santa Fe and TMOLM.
Some random little moments I loved:
- "Merry Christmas, bitches!"
- Jesse shaking his head at the "moaning and groaning on the cold concrete" line in Today 4 U as Adam and Anthony snicker.
- Santa Fe is pretty much a collection of great little moments, but Adam's eyeroll/wink/whatever just cracks me up so much.
- The slow-motion bit at the end of LVB B.
- Not exactly a moment per se, but Adam was just ridiculously hot in the TMOLM scene.
- Tracie's diva poses on the staircase in TMOLM.
- "Don't get your ass kicked this time!"
Ahhh, now I want to go see it for the 3rd time to pick out more moments I loved!

OK I can't find the earlier post I saw regarding Mimi saying "so you're a tough guy, huh?" after Roger rescues her from the drug dealer before the Life Cafe, but I noticed it too. While this is a love thread and there are so many things that I recalled and think are cute after reading them here (must go see the movie a 3rd time soon! :) ) , it kind of bugged me. I heard that and thought "maybe they were directed to improv on the way into the cafe and she said that a tad bit too loud and the mic picked it up." He didn't really have a response. It came across less like Mimi's half badass/half needy waif thing and more like Rosario was just...chatting with Roger as herself.
LOVE ADAM though! How many pictures has that guy taken for an 'unknown' actor! :)
Has anyone mentioned Collins little move he makes when they're all coming down the subway steps during SANTE FE? "Sing it girl...". It's classis...as is Roger's reaction.
Hmm someone said they loved Anthony dancing, but how about watching Adam try to dance, eh? ^_~ I did enjoy this movie ^^
I posted about Adam's dancing. I love it because it's bad. But it's a really, really good effort!
Watching Adam dance was gold. And watching Anthony crazily shake his head during La Vie Boheme B was hilarious.

MC, what does that mean..."not slashy enough?" It's a nice little hug between hetero guy friends. :)
(Oddly enough Anthony has been playing this benchmark character for 10 years on and off and he's so not hetero, yet it somehow works :))
Slash is fanfiction in which the characters are made to be, well, romantically involved. I've seen a lot of complaints that in the movie, Mark and Roger aren't exuding enough of this love that this certain camp of fans *insists* is present. There are Rent fans who insist that they see an underlying sexual love between Mark and Roger, and some of them were angry that in the movie, they weren't portrayed that way.
... Whatever.
I'm happy they were able to make it so nonsexual. I thought that was always how it was supposed to be.

Hmm, interesting information and theory. I gotta say, perhaps these Slash fans see a bit of that because Anthony's so obviously (and admittedly) gay in real life. But I don't see it on Adam's side. And besides, as for criticism of that "left out" aspect of the film, why should it even be included? The story calls for the to be buds, not lovers, so why can't they let the plot lie? :)
If Adam were gay in real life...oh man...that would be another sad case of "what a shame women can't have what this beautiful man has to offer.." Or something like that. Instead we have that pesky wife of his we shouldn't forget about.
I think it's highly dependent on who you see play the parts, and on the actors' interpretation, as well as what that interpretation can pass on to the audience's interpretation.
And hey, sometimes, people just want to think they're gay because the actors are hot and it would be hot if they were in bed together.

Yeah I agree, that's pretty much what I was trying to say. But the weird thing that got me when you were explaining these "Slash" folks is...people have been yakking for weeks now about differences between the film and the movie, as far as shots, songs, lyrics, lines, and other little nuances. But the PLOT has been the same plot for 10 years so I'm surprised they'd pick apart that aspect. Gay dudes in the plot, yes. Roger and Mark, not gay. Get over it. :)
Maybe it's because of Adam's sparkly jeans.
... any excuse to talk about those!

Sparkly jeans! Did I miss that...? I don't care, I was more drawn to those sparkly eyes and teeth! His wife must hate that he's such a chick magnet. THough she's gorgeous too.
Maybe I have to hate them both for being beautiful.
They aren't in the movie, but:
A little... pretty, huh?
Cybele's cool. Probably because people are automatically scared of her, so she doesn't have to be mean.
I've totally jacked the thread.

Oy Gevalt. What's with those jeans??! :) When is that picture from...the original show or some other concert. Yeesh. I like him better with long hair I must say.
People are scared of her? Why? I mean, she's not usually smiling in pics I"ve seen of her, and I want to say "um, wanna be more supportive of your man being in the brightest limelight he's ever been in, lady?" But she has pretty features. Neither pretty features--nor unsupportive people--scare me. If she's a -----, that's another story. Hope not; he seems to be a devoted family man.
A concert he did in the summer of.... 2002?
People are scared because she *looks* so utterly intimidating. She's pretty nice, though.
