re: RENT SCREENPLAY

Yeah, but it's not what Larson wrote...anyway.

I always assumed that in the play she wasn't actually in her apartment during that number, she was up on the fire escape outside Roger's apartment trying to get his attention.

I do really like the note through the window though, so I guess I don't really mind.

I don't know if I like how they did "one song glory" though...what do you guys think?
Ways to annoy people: Arrive at a meeting late, say you're sorry, but you didn't have time for lunch, and you're going to be nibbling during the meeting. Then eat raw potatoes. Ask people what gender they are,or Disagree strongly with everything anybody says:)

re: RENT SCREENPLAY

emcee - haha, you are popular. everyone knows who you are!

"I don't know if I like how they changed alot and they have the flashbacks during glory and other parts"
^^ this is from earlier, but nobiz, you don't like that? i really like the flashbacks, we get to see some scenes that have been in our imagination for the past 8 years. of course, some people might want it to stay in their imaginations...

re: RENT SCREENPLAY

I like Glory. Actually, I like all the flashbacks. Although I wish they had kept some of the Without You ones from the Chbosky version...but that's just cuz I have ulterior motives...right, Emcee?

re: RENT SCREENPLAY

I love the flashback stuff. It gives a really good perspective of the history these characters have - it makes them more real, IMO.

ETA - YES! WHY did they take that out? *pouts*

re: RENT SCREENPLAY

Definitely makes them more real. I think the same thing is true of the dialogue scenes. I wish more of those had been kept. I really like seeing these characters doing everyday human things...it takes them from being "musical characters" and makes them more real. Wow that made no sense.

re: RENT SCREENPLAY

Not to mention that if they keep one of those flashbacks in Glory there will be a nude scene...heh, I'm so shallow.

re: RENT SCREENPLAY

Emcee, it's still there! It's just with April now instead...which is kinda a bad thing cuz it's at the beginning now, meaning I will pass out and miss most of the movie re: RENT SCREENPLAY

re: RENT SCREENPLAY

Yes, but maybe we'll get to hear about it getting filmed. And maybe more cast members will turn up here. You know how cool that would be?

Anyway, I'm out for now...I'll be back later for more thoughtful discussion, I promise.
