ENJOY! Can't wait to see this!
Damn. NPH has really outdone himself.
Anybody else find it really disturbing that those children are portraying characters with AIDS?

Holy sh*t f*ck that was disturbing.
Ok. You want to do this show in high schools? Fine, I guess.
Middle schools? Ehhhh. Maybe?
BUT ELEMENTARY SCHOOL CHILDREN WHO APPEAR TO BE 6-10 years old? Just no. Extremely disturbing and sickening.

Both terrifying and adorable. Well played.

That video is terrible. Who lets eight year olds do Rent?
The Christmas pageant this year will be "Oh Calcutta!".
The actress playing Joanne is relying way to much on her prop (the phone).
If you thought this was disturbing you shoudl have seen their version of Contact.
I want to be at the musical rehearsals for this show.
"Okay, I want to all to scream this music as loud as you can! Ready, go!"
And Tom Collins is.... a girl?

Yes, Tom is a girl. It was the most painful "I'll Cover You Reprise" EVER.
Also, the choreography is great.

Oh good God. This is seriously the most disturbing thing I have ever seen. Do these kids even know what AIDS is?

Weird. I guess they had a male and a female Collins?
Yes, it's legal.
They probably think it is something you can get from hugging and kissing a lot.
Mr. Patrick Harris has 100% gained my approval
Extraordinary. By casting younger, they have un-earthed the true core of RENT. This is definite atonement for the film version.

While this is frightening - although, it's really not that much more frightening than the community theatre production I saw in Chicago last winter - why is everyone horrified that children might know what AIDS is? I knew what AIDS was when I was a child. I don't really see that as the hot issue here.
Well obviously this brilliant director (I'm thinking probably David Leveaux was behind this one) took inspiration in Joanne's line to Maureen: "You're One Lucky Baby" - and took that to heart in his casting.
I don't think the issue of AIDS is the issue; I think its the connotation that these children would have contracted it through drug use or sex which gives one the creeperrs -- but what is theatre for if not to disturb profoundly.

HIV is replaced with head lice in the grammar school version.
(beeeping)
"RID break!"
"You?"
"Me. You?"
"Me. Me."
[ROGER]
What'd you forget?
[MIMI]
Got a COMB?
[ROGER]
I know you? -- You're --
You're scratching....
[MIMI]
It's nothing
It's bugs, crabs or maybe mosqeet,
And I'm just a little
Weak on my feet
Would comb my nits out?
What are you staring at?
[ROGER]
Nothing, just the lice in the moonlight.
When I was younger, I knew the word AIDS and that it was bad but none of the details.
I also would be very afraid of their Out Tonight.
Is it possible this is a hoax?
It's possible they just showcased a few of the better songs.
I don't even want to hear the edited version of La Vie Boheme.
